Your best ever TV ad? 'Levis in the laundrette' for me!

I see that model Nik Kamen has sadly died.
For me the 1985 Levi's ad, set in the laundrette, to the music of 'Heard It Through the Grapevine' was up there with the finest.
Any other contributions?

Do love the snoop dog one for just-eat! Did love the Levi’s iconic one! Not too keen on all the celeb warbutons ones though ... some ads are just totally bonkers and don’t even make sense or are actually relevant to the product!!!

Was it Halifax who had the couple sat on a sofa and. the chap saying we want to be together. Girlfriend's face was a picture.

The aliens falling over with laughter in the Cadbury’s Smash adverts.

Definitely the Old Spice one with the gorgeous Isaiah Amir Mustafa with the heavenly voice. Known as 'the man your man could smell like'

"Hello ladies, look at your man, now back to me....."

Has me in stitches every time

"Do you love someone enough to give him/her your last Rolo?" or words to that effect. One of these was in a circus with a young elephant who was being teased by a smug young man in a tank top. Years later same man is approached by the elephant, also a little older and who never forgot and literally swipes the smile off the man's face with his trunk.

The tea ad with the cat and the dog on the sofa who put the kettle on and enjoy a cuppa each.

Perhaps not my absolute favorite but I think
Levi could show the Nick Kamen ad a few more times. The youngsters will see what got us hot under the collar last Century!

Loved these, especially when they laughed!

The girl who thinks she has got one over on her dad when she retrieves the pound from the trolley in the supermarket. Can’t remember what the advert is for but love her cheeky face ( reminds me of my granddaughter)
Also the little girl who goes to buy her mum a bar of chocolate and pays with buttons & toys

If you are very old and remember the start of commercial tv. there was a cigarette ad - "You're never alone with a Strand". This showed a lonely Sinatra type walking at dusk along the Embankment with haunting music. I was young and thought it so sophisticated.

The Cadbury's smash ads with the aliens falling about laughing! Always makes me laugh like a drain!!

Does anyone else quote from some of these ads in every day life? For instance, if we see someone struggling to park, we always say 'There's Reginald Molehusband'.

The aliens from the smash ad, didn't like smash though?

Lulubelle500 Fri 07-May-21 11:23:59

Well, there aren't really any now! The days of Pepsi and Coke and Smash are long gone. But if I had to choose one campaign it would be the Nationwide one. It's been on some time and it's still got legs.

The Coca Cola one from the 70s and the song was "Id`e like to teach the world to sing".
