In the doghouse

Absolutely love this programme! We’ve binge watched the whole series and also a previous series.

I love it too but then I'm a sucker for anything with dogs in it. There are quite a few dog programmes at the moment.

It’s a favourite in our house when the grandsons come to stay

This is my absolute favourite tv programme. All those beautiful dogs getting the lovely homes they so deserve.

Did anyone see last weeks where a Staffie was rehomed with an elderly couple and went on to attack their friends dog? We said at the time the dog was far too strong for someone so old. Apart from that though I love the programme. Dogs are so healing.

It's a lovely programme but I do sometimes wonder if people are matched with the right dogs. Certainly it seemed unwise to place a staffie which had already displayed a propensity to aggression (though understandable in the circumstances) with an elderly couple. It puts a lot of pressure on people if they reject a dog that clearly needs a home.

I’m not sure if that Staffie had shown aggression. Even though we’re both wary of Staffies after what had happened to our dog we both agreed that it seemed like a lovely dog but was very powerful for such an old person. The Staffie that the lovely lady from NZ had taken on had bitten someone when there was some sort of altercation in his previous home: now that would worry me. I thought the young lady whose granny had died and his parents had divorced was adorable and really wanted him to find the perfect dog, which I think he did.

I'm getting the dogs mixed up then. I thought they took the Staffie which had been involved in a domestic altercation.

My uncle and aunt had a Staffie for several years. He was always gentle and placid but one day he flew at their other small dog and did some damage. They had it put to sleep, which I think is a bit sad, but perhaps the safest option, I'm not sure.

No. It was the NZ lady that had that one. I guess the fitted in with each other’s stories in that they were both being given a second chance. Not that she had done anything wrong imo. I don’t think the other dog had a history of aggression but we missed part of the programme.
