Watched this last night. Just about the saddest film I've ever seen. The way those poor children had to live broke my heart and Zain, the boy who took the main part, had the saddest little face. Not exactly comfortable watching.

I could cheerfully have strangled his feckless cruel parents.

I watched this film sometime ago on Prime, but I noticed it is on All4. I mentioned it on another thread. It really is a film worth watching, I believe I read the little boy, was actually a Syrian refugee at the time living in Beirut, like many untrained child actors picked from obscurity he is a complete natural. Yes the parents were awful, but in parts the film was uplifting. I thought it was one of the best foreign language films I'd seen in quite a while.
