Just started watching this new 4 night drama on Channel 5.

I’m only at the first ad break, but already think it’s following in the footsteps of sooooooo many other four night dramas.

Not much else on though.

Or the gardener?

Calendargirl Wed 14-Jul-21 21:34:31

I’m starting to think Anna is playing a cunning game.

I think she will end up co-ercing Becky into killing the husband, getting her accused of murder, leaving her, Anna, with custody of the children and able to return to the UK.

Oh, and taking Ray the taxi driver with her as chauffeur!

sparklefizz I feel the same I m definitely enjoying it Warts and all and I m taking (did I say talking) to the screen

Sparklefizz Wed 14-Jul-21 14:51:39

He's gaslighting her. I hate him and find myself saying "B***ard" to the TV set every so often.

Lots of holes in the storyline but I'm still enjoying it.

I think the job has been set up by the husband to keep her out of the way and the bosses don’t care if she is out of the office as the work she is doing is superfluous as the company she is designing for have not commissioned anything. More to the point is how he is able to swan off every afternoon when he has a legit job in a law firm.

I thought he wanted rid of Anna so he could keep the kids and play Happy Families with the nanny. Don't think he realises that's a completely different game to the ones he has been playing.

I would love to live in a house which never needs to be cleaned.
The people in Anna's office are giving her odd looks because around four months ago a few people were made redundant and then she appears and there does not appear to be much work for her.
I have never had a job where I could swan off as I fancied, There are many holes but it is still watchable.

Had the nanny already visited the " holiday cottage" as there was some to-do about the key?

He can't be getting rid of Anna because of the money as he isn't short of a bob or two. Must be the red knickers.

I do wonder if it's possible to have a secret bondage room in a house without being aware of it.

Namsnanny Tue 13-Jul-21 22:54:01

Yes BlueBelle, but it has to have the ring of truth about it, or it doesnt gel.

BlueBelle Tue 13-Jul-21 22:08:02

It’s fiction Calandergirl ???

Calendargirl Tue 13-Jul-21 22:03:45

Seems to be jumping from one thing to another. The holiday home, then suddenly back at the office, then taxi man Ray driving her home unexpectedly.

The husband and the nanny seem to like risky sex. How long does Anna go running for in the mornings? Are they not worried that she might get a bad stitch and cut her run really short, returning early to find them in bed together?

Roll on tomorrow’s episode.

BlueBelle Tue 13-Jul-21 21:49:34

I think it’s really good and I think Charlie Brooks acting is fine it’s keeping me on my toes anyway
I m thoroughly enjoying it

Namsnanny Tue 13-Jul-21 21:47:14

I think its the script letting them down.

Namsnanny Tue 13-Jul-21 21:45:05

I noticed that too Calendergirl.

Do you think it will be a case of the girls ganging up on Jake then?

Calendargirl Tue 13-Jul-21 21:36:32

Whose body will it be that they are discussing at the start?

I think it will be the husband- it ought to be, he’s a right so and so.

What’s going on with the wife’s job? Why do the other staff members keep giving her funny looks?

Namsnanny Tue 13-Jul-21 21:16:10

But so is Brett Tucker.

GrandmaTrisha Tue 13-Jul-21 19:55:05

Just watched last night’s episode. I thought it was very corny and Charlie Brooks’ acting is absolutely awful!

Namsnanny Tue 13-Jul-21 11:52:10

And she wanders off at any opportunity leaving children unattended.
Of course I could give the writers the benefit of the doubt, and say they are leaving us crumbs of info.
So they can lull us into a false sence of security?

Calendargirl Tue 13-Jul-21 11:45:07

And when the new nanny started helping with the children’s breakfasts, (not very successfully), never washed her hands before handling any food, after travelling from goodness knows where.

Should have arrived the night before, to get acquainted with everything before Mum set off for her new job.

Oh well.

Namsnanny Tue 13-Jul-21 11:36:15

Oh, perhaps I should have re worded that last sentenceblush

Namsnanny Tue 13-Jul-21 11:35:33

Yes trisher so many holes its practically a sieve
The writers are expecting us to swallow a lot!

Hussey - red bra!!

The actor who plays the husband seems a bit wooden though?

GillT57 Tue 13-Jul-21 11:34:12

Yes, I agree, not marvellous, but watchable. I did find myself shouting questions at the TV though; how was she able to prowl around in the taxi during work hours, did her new employers not notice her absence? Why have a new nanny arrive within ten minutes of you going off to start a new job?

Calendargirl Tue 13-Jul-21 11:32:58

When does the wife do any work? She’s either on her mobile or nipping out to spy on the husband. Can’t be her lunch hour surely as she and taxi man Ron seem to be staking hubby out for quite a while.

Think the new boss will soon notice that her mind is not very focused on her work.

henetha Tue 13-Jul-21 11:24:39

I like a series on consecutive nights. This one is ok, not marvellous, but watchable.

trisher Tue 13-Jul-21 10:41:13

So if you thought youe husband was cheating and you saw him leave work with his PA what would you do? Well at least follow him and find out where they go. Then a few photos with your phone might be a good idea. There's so many holes in this it's practically a sieve!
