I ve look on Tv /films forum and surprisingly can’t find anything about the new Baptiste series started last night
Did anyone watch it ? I love this series so was eagerly looking forward to it and after a hectic day on the beach and in the sea sat down in the evening and woke up at 10 pm ???
Thankfully ‘catch up’ has helped me out at 7 am this morning

Did you enjoy it ? I think it’s going to be really good once I get my head around the past/ present flashbacks I do love our Julien

Any program that has to spend time re explaining all the ins and outs of the previous plot line, in the last episode, hasn't got faith in it's own story.
Very poor ending for all the above reasons.
But I was bored throughout with all the monologues.

GillT57 Mon 23-Aug-21 13:21:22

I enjoyed it, but too was mystified as to the recovery of all the characters left beaten to a pulp in the woods or the cabin! What was frightening though was that the right wing, racists are on the rise in Hungary in real life.

Ro60 Mon 23-Aug-21 13:04:23

Yes I fast forwarded all of that ?

trisher Mon 23-Aug-21 12:52:15

I think they were left with 10-15 mins at the end of the programme if they died in the forest, so they filled it in with any old guff!

DiscoDancer1975 Mon 23-Aug-21 12:52:03

We didn’t like this one. Completely spoilt at the end with that ridiculous fight scene in the forest. A fit young man against an old man using a walking stick. Totally unrealistic.

Ro60 Mon 23-Aug-21 12:42:11

Looks like the producers chickened out of killing them off.

They'd said it was the last series so why leave it open?

Guess Emma will be back walking next time.?

trisher Mon 23-Aug-21 10:31:36

It was a bit far fetched, and some of it was just time filler. I thought he was dead in the forest but apparently not. Still it was Baptiste. I will miss him!

I was so impressed that a man of his age could out run much younger men and beat them up, whilst surviving a thrashing !!!!!! Cooo.

And it seemed to have taken 20 years off him by the end when he went back to his granddaughter and wife! ?

Cabbie21 Mon 23-Aug-21 08:59:00

I agree that so much was unbelievable. I have almost given up several times during this series but I persevered, though I even wanted to abandon this last episode. I can’t see how Baptiste or his opponent could have survived that fight, nor how the mother and son were rescued, given the state they were all in.
As the actor is not doing another Baptiste, it would have been logical to kill him off in this one.

I thought that as well Callistemon maybe she was just putting a brave face on things.

I agree with BlueBelle really thought Baptiste had died after that beating. Not the best in the series by a long way. It was dragged out unnecessarily as well.

Glad this is finished....so long winded.

We watched it because we felt we had to see it through.

It was farfetched and ridiculous, a pity because I enjoyed the last series.
Fiona Shaw seemed quite jolly at the end, having lost her daughter, husband, one son and with the other son in a coma.

tippytipsy Sun 22-Aug-21 22:59:29

I kind of felt it was quite poignant near the end when the person put the mask on to suggest you get rid of one terrorist only for another to take their place. It came full circle.

Esspee Sun 22-Aug-21 22:44:00

We gave up. It became so unbelievable.

silverlining48 Sun 22-Aug-21 22:37:42

I do agree Blue Belle, how did they all survive the terrible attacks. Seems most unlikely.

BlueBelle Sun 22-Aug-21 22:18:25

What a load of do dah I love Baptists but this was really rubbish some I didn’t understand some was very far fetched (how did Baptise live through that beating in the forest ?) and some was just nonsense
Not good at all what a shame he is one of my favourites

Very disappointing ending. Didn’t care for the protagonists and found then end not believable - are ridiculously sentimental.

Auntieflo Sun 22-Aug-21 22:02:28

Huh....
I am confused . Com.

Can anyone explain?

Esspee Fri 13-Aug-21 14:25:07

We stopped watching it after the fourth episode as we simply didn't care any more. Very disappointing.

Barmeyoldbat Fri 13-Aug-21 11:53:18

Sorry didn’t like it, in fact we have stopped watching it as we found it boring. Found other ones, such as The Bridge and The Killings far better.

twinnytwin Fri 13-Aug-21 10:55:29

We loved it all. The only thing was that we were also watching The Missing (love Julien) at the same time to start with, and were getting confused as to what bit went with which series.

Callistemon Fri 13-Aug-21 10:43:23

I might have to speed watch the last two episodes. I'm bored now.

It certainly is not living up to expectations.

Aveline Fri 13-Aug-21 10:27:38

I did think that it would have been better in 4 episodes. I fast forwarded episode 6 just to get to the end.

00mam00 Thu 12-Aug-21 21:48:55

This is not a spoiler.
I felt I had to go through and watch the rest of the series, but having got three quarters the way through episode 5 I have had to give up. In spite of good characters, good acting, interesting locations, I find the story so ludicrous I just don’t think I could stick through it. Maybe I will check out the last few minutes of the last episode, maybe not.
