Does anyone else find the Omase advert voiceover jarring on the ears. The words seem to be over emphasised ,elongated and stressed in the wrong place. I have started to mute the tv when it comes on.

I can't say I've seen it, maybe it's regional? What is 'Omase' anyway?

BlueBelle Mon 09-Aug-21 19:19:51

What’s Omase ??

tattynan Mon 09-Aug-21 19:28:53

It’s some sort of raffle to win a million pound house with furniture and filthy rich car. They give some of the money they get to charity. Think Ester Ranzens charity was on last one.

I was subjected to the Omase ad the other day tattynan. Isn’t that woman dreadful! Her voice and delivery are appalling and the way she waves her hands around. It’s unbelievable that she was considered the best person for the job.

Can't add any more to mrswoo's post. The woman is truly dreadful.

I totally agree her voice is very very irritating

So is the one on the Viking Cruise advert.

I m intrigued now and want to see it
Are you in a different area I wonder as it doesnt ring any bells with me at all

It's annoying, but not as bad as that terrible woman explaining that Alpecin is a shampoo for women <massively staged whisper> over 50!

Grandmabatty Tue 10-Aug-21 07:23:02

I see it often but I always mute adverts so I haven't heard her. I'll have to unmute now just to have an opinion ?

Hetty58 Tue 10-Aug-21 07:28:38

Adverts are designed to attract attention - by being loud, repetitive and/or irritating - deliberately.

I find a lot annoying. Right now, I can't stand the JD Williams one. What's wrong with Amanda Holden's cleavage - and why show it off?

BlueBelle Tue 10-Aug-21 08:12:41

The eamon and Ruth and their achey legs send me into despair finger nails on a chalk board

sodapop Tue 10-Aug-21 08:17:53

Yes the Eamon and Ruth one is irritating. Is there nothing these people won't do for money.

Hetty58 Tue 10-Aug-21 08:18:56

sodapop, - apparently not!

LullyDully Tue 10-Aug-21 08:21:20

I find the advert with the singing baby creepy. Sian Phillips does the commentary.

lemsip Tue 10-Aug-21 09:12:54

yes horrible voice..... done to get our attention.
she is a voice over professional who uses different voices for different adverts......her site shows all the other ads she does and they are all a bit different. .......
I've noticed that Joanna Lumley now uses a simpering voice for some of the shows she does....used to like her but not any more.

I haven't seen any of these adverts.
Probably that's a bonus!

Trisha57 Tue 10-Aug-21 09:21:50

All I thought when I first saw the house you could win was "all those bl***y windows to clean!" shock

CassieJ Tue 10-Aug-21 09:52:27

I think it's Omaze? I really dislike this advert, the woman's voice is incredibly grating. I switch the sound to mute when it is on.

Hellogirl1 Tue 10-Aug-21 12:10:23

Not only is her voice irritating, but the house is a blot on that beautiful landscape. I wouldn`t be paid to own it!

FindingNemo15 Tue 10-Aug-21 12:30:25

Find her and her voice irritating. They don't mention a price for a ticket!
