Sad about her brother Aldom. I think she comes from a big family. She is exactly the same age as me and I believe we went to school in the same small town. I went to the grammar: she went to the secondary modern.Just goes to show !I shall look out for the programme.
Pam Ayres is very much around. In the summer prior to Covid she entertained our Arts Society for a full hour. No notes, as amusing as ever. At the end of the performance she said she would stay behind for book signing, but explained she couldn't stay long as her brother was dying in the Hospice and she was going there to say goodbye. She could have cancelled her performance, but didn't want to disappoint us. Pam grew up in the area where I live.
Yes, I'm another one looking forward to this series after reading about it in today's TV magazine. There will be 4 x 1-hour programmes but can't find a starting date.
Now this is one travel program i will watch, love Pam Ayres and i use to live in the Cotswolds, a little village called Compton Abdale. Such a pretty part of the UK.
Now I know lots of us were complaining about 'slebs getting freebie hols, jaunting off around the world, mascarading as travelogues. But.....I'm really looking forward to this program!! Channel 5 soon they say.
