James Bond and the price of popcorn????

Goodness, some of you have been lucky with the ticket prices. My daughter went to book at our fairly recently refurbished Odeon, and the tickets were £15+ each.
Tickets at Cineworld are a bit cheaper, £10+ each.

We paid £7.99 each in Glasgow and that was a concession ticket. We went to the 11am showing and the cinema was empty, much to my relief.

On the other hand, I had my bag searched at the Genesis concert on Thursday and my drink (non alcoholic) was confiscated. ☹
The steward gave me a cup, in which to pour it, but it had no lid. Try carrying a lidless cup, vaccination passport, ticket and walking stick at the same time. I got into a right old fankle! ☺

DD and family went to see James Bond film at a small cinema in Bridgnorth. £3.50 each!

I too cannot see the need to eat during performances.

We’re going on the 17th with friends after lunch in a tapas restaurant, I’ll have to eat more!

All tickets are £5.99 at our local Vue. I'm sure people spend more on drinks and snacks because the tickets are cheap. I just take a bag of sweets if anything.

There was a time here in Stockport when bags and handbags were searched for illicit snacks.
As I never go now I don’t know if that is the case but I think you need a mortgage to buy snacks for a family of four after buying the tickets themselves.
When I was told the new James Bond was over two and a half hours long, I knew this wasn’t the occasion to start going again.

I always smuggle my own sweets and drinks into the cinema. Much cheaper. James Bond was great. As they are currently searching for a new James Bond it will be interesting to see how he is introduced in the next film.

I've never understood the need to eat at the cinema or theatre. Last time we went to see a play, someone was munching their way through a bag of wrapped sweets, rustling the wrappers throughout. Grrr

It cost us £6 each today at our local Odeon complex. We were amazed to get in for that price. Two bags of sweets cost an extra £6?. The film was very good. Not the best, but very good we thought.

I saw James Bond on Tuesday, really enjoyed it, I was on A/L so we went to the 12.20 performance. It was cheaper, hardly anyone there, and no popcorn I could see.

I'm not keen on popcorn, the bits stick in my teeth. I usually take a sneaky bag of supermarket sweets.

I know but you can get buttons and smarties on it.

Once looked down as we left our row of seats in the cinema, it was a sea of popcorn ( not us, never eat the stuff) !
I think the mark up in it is so great that cinemas make their money on it, and other snacks.
Nobody can go for two hours without topping up on food it seems ?

Heard on the radio yesterday, whilst driving, that someone paid more for popcorn than the entrance ticket.
