Bridge Over Troubled Water was the first album, I ever bought. I still have it. It was bought with my first wage, from my student summer job in the Knorr factory.

My favourite song now is, New York, New York. I used to have it playing through the sound system on my classroom interactive board, once the children had gone home.

Fantastic pair. Seen Art twice. I would soo like to have been at Central Park.

Just finished watching it, wasn’t it good ? the songs really bring back the memories don’t they?
Dancing in the new style ‘disco’ with my fiancé ( DH) to ‘The Boxer’ and sitting in his room later playing the Bridge Over Troubled Water LP.
They both had marvellous voices, but Bridge sung by Garfunkel is my all time favourite song.

When I was going to visit my brother in Florida for the first time, I put tunes on my I pod for the journey.
It had lots of my favourite American bands on it, Mamas and Papas, Lovin'Spoonful, the Doors, the Beach Boys, the Eagles, and of course, Simon and Garfunkel.
I put it on shuffle, enjoyed listening to it on the flight ✈️.
As I walked down the steps on landing in Florida, by pure chance I heard America in my earbuds... perfect timing!

Let us be lovers we'll marry our fortunes together ??

I gave birth to my daughter to ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’ 34 years ago last week. It’s always been such a special song with happy memories for me.

Lovely programme. So interesting about how the songs were written but so depressing that the political situation in the US doesn't seem to have changed at all.

Excellent programme. Brings back memories of listening to my school friend's copy of BOTW as 15 year olds. Paul Simon will be 80 next week and Art will be 80 next month.

Just as I suspected, this will end up in tears for me.

MissAdventure Sat 09-Oct-21 21:28:59

Oh Cecilia!

Grannmarie Sat 09-Oct-21 21:26:28

Thanks, Jane43, I've just switched over from Blankety Blank, no comparison ?

I've loved S and G since I bought BOTW when I was at High School.

Wonderful music, you can sing along with every song.

MissAdventure Sat 09-Oct-21 21:22:46

Oh thank you!
Such lovely music. smile

Thank you for the heads-up. I wasn't aware of it, so I missed the first 10 minutes or so.

BOTW is one of my all time top favourite albums

Recording it so I will look forward to it later.

In the meantime ⛹️‍♂️
(sigh)

I missed out a ‘they’ after the semi colon. I wish we could edit our posts. I meant to add The Boxer is one of my DH’s favourite records ever.

Just started on BBC 2. We never get tired of listening to the album Bridge Over Troubled Water and we always remember our little boys dancing to some of the tracks such as Baby Driver and Cecilia; are in their mid fifties now.
