Jeremy Clarkson’s Farm - didn’t appeal to me at ALL, but….

I’ve never liked Clarkson but this series was very funny. It’s the first farming series, I have seen, to point out that farms can make 0 profit through actual farming and yet still make money from the subsidy (for now).

Seacliff
Jeramy Clarkson has always had another side it just wasn’t in the media’s interest to show it.
So much easier to show his sometimes non pc comments to rile the natives.

My farming friends all loved it it is so realistic, they have all had the same disasters, made the same mistakes, had the same challenges as Clarkson, although not in the same year
Caleb is a gem well known locally, he has had so much banter about is TV career he almost regrets doing it, I hope he got paid well.
Diddly Squat Farm Shop has become a tourist attraction with long queues blocking local lanes, I must visit sometime.

He was clearly affected when he was told that the three ewes that he had taken to the abbatoir were already 'despatched' - he had wanted to say goodbye (!) I am finding this show so funny - evidently farmers are delighted as he is demonstrating just what a nightmare it can be to try to make a living in farming right now, and as for his shop - well! All he had to sell was potatoes, and eleven eggs.

Letting Jeremy Clarkson near animals could be construed as cruelty I would think.

Well you're quite wrong!

Watch it and see.

There was no animal cruelty quite the reverse. We found the programme highly entertaining and look forward to the next series.

I don't normally like him, but I did enjoy this programme. It was quite educational about the realities of farming life. Actually Jeremy was kind to the animals, and really seemed to have an attachment to the sheep, even though the cost him a lot of money. I would not watch anything that had cruelty to animals. I saw another side to him, so maybe worth watching before making up your mind.

And there's no animal cruelty in it!

Always liked JC. But I know many people who weren't keen are now loving this show.

It's fabulous, it really is.

Can't stand him - and don't want to watch animal cruelty either - so I'll give it a miss!

What animal cruelty?

Redhead56 Mon 18-Oct-21 19:46:35

Loved it, the only TV series I’ve binge watched, but I’ve always read his column in the Times too and watched him in other programmes.

I enjoy farming programmes and I watch most of them. But I avoided this one as I find Jeremy Clarkson a real turn off.

However, you’re tempting me to have a look Witzend.

I loved Caleb. JC needs a comedy partner for his programmes to be watchable.

Witzend Mon 18-Oct-21 19:20:18

….dh wanted to watch it on catch up, or Netflix, or whatever it was, so I sat reading my book, trying to ignore it, but was eventually compelled to watch, and must say I did frequently find it very funny. His local staff are hilarious.
I liked his efforts at re-wilding, too, and at the lambing.

Not recommended for anyone offended by very ripe language though!
