I see it's started already the relentless covering of this programme. Why do news programmes feel they have to tell us about this ad nauseum. Second rate so called celebrities exposing their frailties to the world.
OK rant over what do other people think.

Well DH and I love it and look forward to it every year it’s light entertainment and makes us laugh. Love Ant and Dec but loathe Madley. Hope he gets picked for loads of trials considering the money he’s getting ! Those who don’t like it turn over or turn off and let us lesser mortals have a bit of escapism from the troubles of the world for an hours or so beats politics any day!

It's amazing how many of you bother to post how you never watch this programme!

AnD1 Tue 23-Nov-21 16:41:36

I’ll always remember this quote, not sure who said it but it sums up how I feel about these so called reality shows, the quote “I am too busy living my own life to watch other people living theirs”. It may sound a little pompous but I like to remind myself of it now and again.

I booked months ago to visit the castle for my partners birthday in December. Sorted accommodation and then got a message from castle saying they have to cancel my booking because they are holding I’m a celeb there again this year ?. Has anyone got any recommendations of what to do in/near Abergele please?!

You will be on the doorstep to Snowdonia with many fantastic things to see and do.
The Welsh Mountain Zoo is nearby and The Great Orme Headland offers spectacular views and some interesting history.

love it

seadragon Tue 23-Nov-21 16:19:33

Very surprised that Louise Minchin is on it...but then I never watch it so who am I to 'judge'...?

TanaMa Tue 23-Nov-21 16:19:32

If I was Danny Millers partner/wife, sitting at home with a new baby, I would cringe just watching him and his pathetic histrionics - all for the camera!! Certainly scraping the bottom if the barrel for 'celebs'?!

I did see a bit in the newspapers where the locals in the part of Wales where the castle they use is situated complained and didn't want them there. I suppose they are thinking that it may become a fixture now that the TV bosses realise it is cheaper to stage it in Wales in a draughty castle. I wonder if they are staying in a luxury wing of the castle between shooting scenes.

Just me then! It's one of my favourite programmes! I love it and want Richard Madely to win! I think it's just a little bit of light entertainment which we all (well some of us!) need on these dark nights. My DH can't stand Richard so will enjoy seeing him get picked for the trials. I think he's a marmite type of person. I love Ant & Dec too, so funny!

You need to get out more....?

Edith81 Tue 23-Nov-21 15:25:20

Honestly!! We all have different likes and dislikes but so many of you are so intolerant of something that doesn’t appeal to you. I discovered it in the last few years and watch it regularly. Interesting to see what people tolerate for money and also for their fellow beings.

maydonoz Tue 23-Nov-21 15:24:41

Yes, I'm another who really enjoys "I'm a Celebrity" now.
Like many others on here I used to say it's absolute rubbish and I'm not wasting my time watching it.
Maybe three or four years ago, I started watching it and it grew on me.
Now I really enjoy it and look forward to it.
This year my favourites are Louise Minchin and David Linola and one of them could be a winner.
DH doesn't like it, so he can get on with his football or similar.

Hil1910 Tue 23-Nov-21 15:23:49

Never bother watching such drivel served up as entertainment. Some ppl are easily pleased.

Panda25 Tue 23-Nov-21 15:12:42

It's a load of rubbish, strangely lots of people love it

Ilovedragonflies Tue 23-Nov-21 15:12:07

Am I the only one who is sick of seeing Ant and Dec having a laugh at other people's expense? It was okay when it first started as it was such a new idea but I think it's passed its sell by date now. It just seems a bit... cruel now. (Yes, I know the 'celebs' choose to go on it so are aware they could be who the public likes to humiliate, but it's uncomfortable viewing at best. IMO, of course.)

Penguin12 Tue 23-Nov-21 14:59:26

I love this programme. Forget about everything and get lost in the fun and complete weirdness of the show.

Shropshirelass Tue 23-Nov-21 14:57:39

I think the contestants play to the cameras big style. They know what they are in for when they sign up and they get paid for it. It is all a big act, eating trials may seen vile, but they aren’t given anything they shouldn’t eat and would make them ill, mind over matter.

The good thing is that the revenue from the program is enabling essential works to be done to the castle and brings money to the area. Keep it in the UK so that this continues whatever you think about the program.

Greciangirl Tue 23-Nov-21 14:51:46

I would watch it if it was in the jungle.
Quite frankly, it’s boring set in a castle in wales of all places.

They must want their heads tested.

12Jade34 Tue 23-Nov-21 14:42:46

Absolutely love the show, Danny Miller to win!

GreenGran78 Tue 23-Nov-21 14:34:55

I would watch it if the public could vote for the compulsory participation of a politician of our choice. Now that would be an interesting and eye-opening experiment!

NannaE Tue 23-Nov-21 14:33:29

I don't watch it they are just in for the money.

Lupatria Tue 23-Nov-21 14:21:18

no idea who most of the "celebs" are. not the sort of programme i'd ever watch anyway - can't stand ant and dec.

Happysexagenarian Tue 23-Nov-21 14:13:32

Totally agree with OP. Never watch it. Not interested in what any 'celebrities do.

dumdum Tue 23-Nov-21 14:12:21

Probably is twaddle, but watched it for the first time during lockdown last year, and provided a much needed lighter break. Love the old Welsh Castle. Watched the first ones, not so inspired this year. Have heard of Kadeega (was on master chef),RM, Arlene Philips,Louise Minchin, Frankie Bridge, David Ginola. Not eco friendly.
