Just finished binge watching this - slow to start, but gets better! Recommended!

I've not warmed to it yet but I'll keep going.

Stopped watching after first episode. Disappointing.

I only watched for half an hour it didn’t grab me.

Stopped watching after 10 minutes. Absolute drivel.

Another vote for absolute drivel. Daisy May is a one-trick pony as I suspected.

I wasn't much impressed with episode 1 but thought I'd give episode 2 a go. I gave up half way through.

There’s nothing any good on, so I do watch a lot of rubbish to find out if there’s something in it I can warm to. This is one if those I won’t.

I have found the episodes I watched amusing! Not the greatest TV but not the worst by a long way. Easy TV , good after a busy day!

We watched the first episode, but I didn't find it amusing at all. To my mind, accusing people of being witches is far from a laughing matter. I know this is meant to be a light hearted show, but I just can't take to it. Think of those poor people who were accused and actually killed/executed for totally ridiculous reasons, such as 'having a pet cat' or knowing something about herbs. Sorry, I just can't laugh.

I thought the first episode was slow but its getting better in episode 2. I'll continue to watch.

I think laughing at the ridiculousness of the situation is the point. Like the Witchfinder who managed to convince the little boy who hadn't seen anything that he's actually seen the witch and if he continued to deny it he'd be considered the witch. I don't think its meant to generate belly laughs.

I wanted to watch it as my daughter played the lead part in The Crucible in High School. I know The Crucible was partly fiction but still quite terrifying that people were so fearful of anyone with herbal knowledge,

I felt the same Blinko. Not a subject for comedy.

Precisely. No laughing matter. Couldn't watch it.

Is it made by the same people that did Upstrt Crow? I thought it was so was going to give it a go.

Pittcity Mon 21-Mar-22 19:17:36

It's the people who made Alan Partridge Maybee.

MayBee70 Mon 21-Mar-22 23:27:52

I really like Steve Coogan but never liked Alan Partridge as I hate embarrassing situations.

Same here. Can’t watch AP at any price.

Blinko Tue 22-Mar-22 09:26:58

Upstart Crow was very funny and very clever.

nadateturbe Tue 22-Mar-22 10:20:17

Upstart Crow was first class.

Blink I'm with you I am amazed that in the current climate society thinks the persecution of women is a subject for a comedy programme.
