Favourite (Closing) Film Themes.

I loved the poignancy of the closing music to The Alamo, when the only survivors, a young mum and a couple of small children, walked out of the cellar where they`d hidden, and walked past the Mexican army, who saluted them.

I don't think you can beat Lara's theme from Dr Zhivago

It's the final ten minues or so of Close Encounters Of The Third Kind which always gets to me - where the Francois Truffaut character does the peace sign and smiles and the alien leader does the same. Then Roy Neary (Richard Dreyfuss) is led into the mother ship and it takes off. The glorious theme music by John Williams swells and then, as the craft disappears the music segues into When You WIsh Upon A Star .. goosebumps just thinking about it, and it always makes me cry, sad old romantic that I am!

The closing song Queen Bee from the film Emma with Bill Nighy. Composed and sung by Johnny Flynn.

And 'I would walk 500 miles' at the end of Sunshine on Leith. I would have loved to take part in that!
