Bayeux Tapestry

I watched it so interesting.

I’ve missed it obviously - what channel was it on ?

The colours in the tapestry are still amazing. It is on display in Bayeux which is a lovely little town. It is displayed around a central circular wall. There are headphone available in many languages and the tapestry is a series of smaller pictures telling the story. Each section is numbered and the audio description explains each one. It is a lovely thing to visit and when we went we had lunch in a little place almost opposite with a water wheel on the side. We were on our way to catch an evening ferry from Ouistreham.

We've been too. I must watch, thanks. It was so long ago, all I can remember is the room was very dark.

I'm doing bits of it in cross stitch and thoroughly enjoying it. I got the kits from a British company, Bothy threads. I was descended from the Plantaganets (along with thousands of other people).

We saw it too, many years ago. Absolutely amazing. I’ll have to look the programme up.

I loved seeing the tapestry in Bayeux some years back. I was also very moved by the stained glass in the nearby cathedral. I recorded the programme and shall watch it later.

It was a fascinating programme. I wish I had known you could become an embroidery archaeologist when I was younger!
