Did Spider turn up as part of the protest group that was for some reason wanting to squat in the old brewery? Toyah stole the key for them, but the cunning plot was foiled by Debbie. I think that Spider’s job might be to infiltrate that group, and Toyah being there is just incidental. She’s way too drippy to be a threat to national, or even Weatherfield, security, but that stroppy alpha male looks as though he could be dangerous enough to have resources spent on containing him.

Of course I might be getting carried away here and getting Corrie confused with Line of Duty.

I think Debbie is quite a nice looking lady always wears he4 clothes well She is small and neat and looks good with her short hair and big earrings she’s got a gob on he4 though
I don’t see any undercover business with Spider but then I m not very clever at working out plots

That's what I was getting at above, but on reflection I don't think that Toyah is a master criminal of the sort that would attract valuable police time to nail her.

The other eco bloke is Spider's friend, and he wasn't anywhere near the cobbles when Spider arrived on the scene.

Yes he could blackmail her into giving him the job of managing the pub (think of the storylines with him and Daisy!).
Then he could embezzled to his hearts content.
Corri always has an evil villain, so maybe Steven will be it.

There have been stories in the press (RL) about undercover cops having relationships and children when 'on the job' (sorry ).
So maybe the Spider Toyah storyline is going to be something similar?

Stephen might put the kibosh on things. He made a coded comment to Leo, and he’s obviously desperate for money. Maybe he’ll try to blackmail Jenny?

If Jenny departs to Canada who will run the pub? I know Daisy and Sean were keen , but how about Chesney and Gemma ? They’ve got experience in hospitality of sorts. They could do with the income and the quads could hide upstairs for the next 10 years.
