maddyone

I think Zedan looks like one of those Lego men that you can take the hair off and put it back on.

Hahahahahahahahahahaha.... brilliant ?

Hear,hear .

Clawdy Fri 19-Aug-22 07:48:56

I'm getting confused about the hairdressing business - does Audrey own the one David works at too ?

Also, how long has Audrey’s salon been shut? Before Covid?

If so that’s 2.5 years or more,

Think the place would need more of a deep clean than Stephen doing a bit of sweeping, Max soaping the window, and Audrey faffing about with ‘Alfes’ photo.

Who will work there, David and Maria are busy with the barber’s, Kelly is a trainee. As you say, perhaps Claudia will lend a hand.

Serendipity22 Thu 18-Aug-22 10:29:22

Ive had to laugh at the posts re: Audrey going back to work hahahahahaha, seriously bonkers. I await my viewing 3 days a week with glee but find myself picking and piking my way along.

I have to add the name Zedan to the naff acting list, or whatever hes called. His whole look annoys me.

Right, thats my moan of the day complete.

confused

It’s al, quite ridiculous. I don’t know why I watch it, but I do grin

Grannynannywanny Thu 18-Aug-22 08:53:19

Maybe Audrey will take on Claudia as her assistant. Nigel Havers quipped a couple of years ago that he’d love to return as his deceased character Lewis’s twin brother. Maybe that’s not a bad idea. There are numerous mature single ladies ready to fall for his charms and provide fodder for more storylines . He might even do us a favour and emigrate with Yasmeen.

Franbern Thu 18-Aug-22 08:51:03

I do find the story line about Audrey and the hairdressers very absurd. I am virtually the same age as that character and find it very hard to get through each day without having naps. Last thing I want to do is having regularly to go into work, etc.
Rita's hair is incredible (so obviously a wig), I look round all the ladies at my u3a groups and do not see any having these elaborate hairstyles.

Still do not know exactly what Uncle Stephen is up to. Love the way Audrey keeps side-stepping his request for her signature on those forms.

Would a solicitor really ask the gmother of a client to pass on a message to them?

Doodledog Thu 18-Aug-22 07:50:40

Yes, if only other fundraisers were as good, there wouldn’t be a roofless church in the land, and food poverty would be at an end.

I’m all for giving older women more positive roles, but Audrey going back to work is ridiculous. She’s a borderline alcoholic 82 year old, and there’s a barber’s just around the corner grin. Are we going to be subjected to hair wars for the foreseeable future?

I’d like to see more storylines for the ‘oldies’. They can be a bit farcical when Rula Lenska is in it, but Stillwaters offered scope for some different stories and a change of scenery. It was a shame when Covid put paid to that. An old folks’ home or retirement flats would be a good idea, I think. A few of them are getting a bit doddery, and it would provide employment outside of catering, hairdressing and the factory for younger residents. Older people’s issues are very much on the agenda too, in an ageing society.

Yasmeen could get a new job as a charity fundraiser if Speed Dahl ever goes belly up.

The idea of raising money for abused women seemed to happen overnight. Flyers printed and delivered, numerous raffle prizes donated, £1000+ appeared in the blink of an eye, and a gathering of (about half a dozen) sat down to onion bhajis, and listen to Yasmeen pontificating before collapsing in the back and good old Roy donning his pink pinny and coming to the rescue.

Her voice, her pained expression, her OTT dramatics, just get on my nerves.

Stu is better off in prison than stuck with her.

Grannynannywanny Wed 17-Aug-22 22:04:53

Is Fay going to tell Craig that she tried to kiss Michael ? I wouldn’t like to be in her shoes if Beth finds out.

Aveline Wed 17-Aug-22 21:55:36

I don't think I'd be going to an 82 year old hairdresser who hadn't worked for years! Her own hair looks like it would lift off neatly in one piece.
Yasmeen is sooooo whiny! Must be a shortage of older Asian actresses.

lemsip Wed 17-Aug-22 21:15:15

who's going to give audrey a cut and blow dry?

pinkprincess Wed 17-Aug-22 20:32:34

Gemma and Craig both leave their mouths hanging open after every sentence.
Gemma over does it with her acting and neither Craig or Yasmeen can act at all.

Doodledog Wed 17-Aug-22 20:26:20

Me too. She always makes me wonder who else auditioned for the role. They must have been really atrocious.

I'm so pleased to see Roy back, though.

BlueBelle Wed 17-Aug-22 20:25:16

I feel ill just watching Yasmeen and her raucous voice tonight
I wish she’d go away for ever

Serendipity22 Wed 17-Aug-22 15:27:17

I too like Gemma and I agree, her 'wardrobe ' is fantastic, what better attire to go with her off-beat personality.....

smile

Aveline Wed 17-Aug-22 11:14:45

Yes. Just as Aggie's the only nurse!

maddyone Wed 17-Aug-22 11:13:01

Aveline didn’t you know that Craig is the only police officer in Weatherfield? grin

Aveline Wed 17-Aug-22 09:37:49

Craig's always on duty on Coronation Street too. Of course it's a hotbed of crime but I thought his bosses would not have him working on his own doorstep.
I like Gemma btw. Whoever chooses her wardrobe is brilliant at it!

Grannynannywanny Wed 17-Aug-22 08:11:24

Just caught up with Corrie last night. Yes, I agree with the comments about the afternoon tea outing. It was very well done.

I’m finding Craig and his over the top obsessive behaviour with Fay’s “menopause “ really annoying. Also, it’s hard to take him seriously as a police constable. Too gormless and immature.

Rosina Tue 16-Aug-22 22:24:00

Gemma cannot speak (shriek) without leaving her mouth hanging open at the end of the sentence. I now have to turn away as it irritates me so much. How do those poor children cope, living in such a noisy atmosphere with so much shouting...

Calendargirl Tue 16-Aug-22 14:16:03

The mouthy female with quads, Gemma, does have a job. She’s one of the barmaids at the Rovers.

No idea who looks after the children, as Chesney is at the kebab shop, and Bernie is in the cafe.

Perhaps sweet little Joseph is drafted in as babysitter.

Franbern Tue 16-Aug-22 09:30:59

Charleygirl they still live on the cobbles. Seriously, thought, I think that each episode can only have a maximum number of actors in it, which is why the stories have to be spread around. Also, actors do go on quite long holidays so have to be written out or just not included for a few weeks.

Going to be interesting as the quads start to grow up Wonder whether they will just two sets of twins to portray these or will actually find some quads of the correct age.

Charleygirl5 Tue 16-Aug-22 08:46:15

What has happened to that mouthy female whose name escapes me, with the quads? Maybe with luck she has moved house and they have found jobs. I could not stand her.
