Does anyone else enjoy this? I record it every weekday and watch after my dinner. I think I enjoy it because I seem to be quite good at it despite lacking knowledge of football and films. Of course there is nobody to compete with at home, but I usually beat the contestants to the 'buzzer' (unless there is a delay? smile). I hope it is keeping my brain active.

Enjoy House of games also, am amazed at lack of knowledge, recently someone thought Costa Rica was in Spain.

I love House of Games. The only 2 rounds I really Don like are Where is Kazakhstan and the one where the have to listen 3the lead in to a song and guess when it starts.

I think Richard Osman is a great host and I thoroughly enjoy his books.

I like House of Games and I don’t mind Richard Osman, but I can’t get into his books, either reading or audio books. We love University Challenge. We score points for understanding the question as well as occasionally getting a question right. I’m longing for Only Connect to restart.
I score a point if I get the same wrong answer!
???

I too like HoG but recently have given it a breather. Some of the contestants, most of whom Ive never heard of, can be very irritating. I think I like it because I can answer most of the questions although I haven’t yet got to grips with Answer Smash ?. I think spelling & geography must have been lacking in recent education? RO is a bit like Marmite. As for Alexander Armstrong. If it wouldn’t damage the tv Id chuck a brick at him if he said ‘Thank yoo - verrry much’ one more time. Irritating doesn’t cover it and he’s so good and knowledgeable on Classic FM. Perhaps because I can’t see him!

I no longer watch the chase, I don't understand how it can continue unless at least 3 get back...if only one or two then it's a forgone conclusion the chaser wins!.... pointless then house of games for me!

crazyH Thu 31-Mar-22 22:04:57

The Chase for me - Bradley Walsh makes the show. Tipping Point is ok, but the presenter is so bland ……

Luckygirl3 Thu 31-Mar-22 21:53:45

We score points for understanding the question ..... I love that - that is so funny smile

timetogo2016 Thu 31-Mar-22 19:16:54

I love the Chase too,i read recently that Bradley is leaving the show.
Hope that`s not the case.
Iv`e not watched House of Games as of yet.

Richard Osman ....bio.... From 1989 to 1992, he studied Politics and Sociology at Trinity College, Cambridge, where he was a contemporary of Pointless co-presenter Alexander Armstrong, who read English.[4][5]

I enjoy it too. I particularly like the fact that RO is very polite to the contestants - they had an elderly celebrity on once (she was the only one I recognised - mostly I have to look them up!) - and he was considerate to her inability to answer the questions without being patronising - I was impressed by that.

All the questions on popular culture pass me by, but there are lots of others I can enjoy. It is very interesting how the stand-up comedians are always so good at it.

I like intelligent men .
And there's something goofy and nerdy about Richard which appeals to me .
I feel the same about Stephen Fry !

Oh my word…no comparison !! Stephen fry is way out of Osmans league !

I don’t want to blow my own trumpet, but I will ?
Geography is my favourite subject and I’m very good on capital cities.
A useless geography fact I read recently. Hyde Park is 0.70 times as big as Monaco.

Zoejory Thu 31-Mar-22 16:34:11

Oh yes, I do like House of Games. And Pointless. And Richard.

Ohmother Thu 31-Mar-22 16:31:25

Two fans here aswell. Love Answer Smash. I like that it’s friendly and some answers I can shout out to the telly before the players. The Geography and average sections tend to be my weak points.

Thanks for the information about the You Tube link, JackyB, which will enable us to watch when we're in France. I've enjoyed watching House of Games for a while, including on the channel entitled Dave later in the evening.

Pittcity Thu 31-Mar-22 16:16:28

House of games is a must see here too. My favourite rounds are Where is Kazakhstan and Totes Emoji. We play that one on our phones with the family.

Richard Osman holds or held the record for naming Capital Cities, so geography is a strong point for him.

Has anyone been watching University challenge with Zeng who has an amazing knowledge of world geography?

JackyB Thu 31-Mar-22 15:51:47

I love House of Games. There is a kind soul who uploads it to YouTube every evening so we expats can enjoy it almost in real time, too! The only cringeworthy thing about it is the round with the languages.

Mastermind drives me mad because the rounds are timed but some questions are really long-winded and others short and pithy. I'm sure some people are diddled out of points that way. And I thought Clive Myrie was supposed to have been a foreign correspondent. Some questions I have not even understood because of his weird way of pronouncing foreign words. What happened to the BBC's Pronunciation Department?

rockgran Thu 31-Mar-22 15:03:43

Love it - especially Where's Kazakhstan -but I wish they would leave the question on the screen longer instead of cutting to the contestants.

DanniRae Thu 31-Mar-22 14:49:19

I love quizzes but for some reason don't like The Chase.

I really enjoyed the new Weakest Link - so much better now Anne Robinson isn't hosting it - I hope there will be another series soon. I don't mind if the contestants are celebrities or not and I thought the new presenter did a brilliant job!
Well done to Ramesh Ranganathan smile

MiniMoon Thu 31-Mar-22 14:46:31

I watch it every day. I have even converted my DH who is not a quiz show fan.

PinkCosmos Thu 31-Mar-22 13:32:29

I love the Chase and Bradley Walsh. The questions come along quickly, which I prefer to something like, say, Eggheads which only has about 15 questions in the whole show.

I also like Mastermind - but only the general knowledge rounds as the specialised subjects are generally beyond me.

I have been watching Celebrity Mastermind and some of the contestant are surprisingly poor at general knowledge, even the ones with careers that should indicate otherwise.

House of Games is OK but I wouldn't go out of my way to watch it.

I thought they had brought back The Weakest Link with Ramesh Ranganathan - who seems to be on everything these days

I can't abide Pointless

BlueBelle Thu 31-Mar-22 13:31:48

I can’t stand it, for some reason I can’t put my finger on Richard O irritates me and the game itself doesn’t grab me at all
