I used to rather like them. I've just read that Con Cluskey has died. RIP Con.

I liked them too. They were all so good looking.

my dear long departed mum used to love the bachelors.

Gosh yes! Often on Saturday tv shows and my friend's mum went to see them in concert several times, including travelling to Dublin.
She was also enraptured with Val Doonican, and became one of his groupies!

A friend was telling me she was in a club in the 60s with a friend and a couple if Irish chaps asked them to dance. They declined the offer and a couple of weeks later she was watching Top of The Pops or something and there were the two chaps - Con and Dec Cluskey.

I didn’t particularly like them but they had good voices. A bit like Val Doonican, popular with many but not my cup of tea. Sorry to hear one has died though.

Dec, Con and John.

“Ramona” and “I Believe” were big hits.

Dec seemed to grin all the time, John played the double bass I think. He wasn’t a brother, but was quite nice looking.

My Mum liked the Bachelors.

That makes me feel old!

Although I was more into rock and pop I think The Bachelors had a charm. Lovely soothing music.

RIP Con Cluskey

They were a favourite of my mams and listening to them singing I Believe gives me a lump in my throat even now

Yes my mum loved The Bachelors and Val Donnican
and his jumpers and rocking chair also Jim Reeves.
I think she liked the Clean Cut style.
Listening to all their records on her Dansett (spelling?) Record player.

At bedtime she would often sing The Unicorn to me and my sister.

Rip Con Cluskey
