I have just seen the third episode and decided D I Ray is not a very nice character. Her line management skills are non existent - ' build rapport with her new team, barked orders at them without involving them in decision making, failed to acknowledge any contribution they tried to make, put herself and them at risk and although she turned in a spectacular result now has a catastrophe to deal with. If I was her boss she would be down the road.
Kittye I thought the 'wooden' acting was a mask as she had experienced racist behaviour towards her and she adopted this straight face so her true emotions would not be misinterpretated. Even this didn't work, hence the accusation, which i won't disclose incase i spoil for others.
Watching Wednesday's episode, which is now succumbing to the malign influence of Jed Mercurio, I was alarmed by the presence of his favourite team of storm troopers armed police quite unnecessarily brandishing machine guns in front of small children. He apparently has a 'Learn to write Hit TV Shows' course available.
Oh dear! It seems just us who are finding it hard going. Rather wooden acting from Ray, and no phones ringing in the background? Not a busy station by the look of it.
I watched the first episode, but was not riveted and didn’t watch yesterdays. In fact, I nodded off before the end, reading these comments though, perhaps I should have persevered.

I find it interesting that as a twist she seems to have little knowledge of her own culture. Her sgt had to explain a particular religious celebration and when asked about languages she said she had Spanish gce. I liked her in Bend it and am enjoying this too.
I am a patient soul but did enjoy episode 1. Think it’s on again tonight/ this week which means I should remember the plot as well as recognise the characters.
