Prince Charles and Princess Anne as babies and toddlers. Prince Charles always looked worried and serious, even as a small child. Anne was much livelier.l

The Queen herself as a toddler and as a very pretty little girl was quite recognisable.

I recorded it as I had company but will enjoy catching up with it tomorrow. It sounds good.

I didn’t watch it. I was sorry to miss “Antiques Roadshow”!

She was a very brave woman.

She sheltered Jewish refugees from the Nazis in Greece during WW2 and later founded a nursing order.
She was awarded the honour of Righteous Among Nations for her work during the war.

She does sound a rather endearing character in her later years.
According to Gyles Brandreth in his biography of the Duke of Edinburgh,

"They say you could always tell when she was coming along the corridor because of the whiff of Woodbines in the air. The idea of the Duke of Edinburgh’s mum, dressed as a nun, sucking on her Woodbine… it’s wonderful!"

yes, I thought that was Phillip'smother with the King at Balmoral

Yes, we noticed that, too.
It was at Balmoral I think and she must have been visiting from Greece at that time, although I think she spent her last two years here after the Greek Junta took over.

Interesting to get a glimpse of the King chatting to the nun who must have been Prince Philip’s mother. Was it at Balmoral?
