....with Tommy cooper, Eric Sykes, John Junkin and a few other well known comic actors. I remember watching many years ago but its now on Britbox, came across it yesterday and watched it and i still think its hilarious, brought tears to my eyes through laughing, was a good tonic (smile)

I found The Plank on YouTube one day when my youngest grandson was visiting. We laughed and laughed, it's a wonderful piece of comedy.

One of my favourite films, and grandson loves it, too. smile
We also like the laurel and hardy film when Stan gets crabs in his pants.

I had a copy on DVD and used to show it to my year 10/11 students when they were stressed over exams!
Wonderful light relief.

This frequently gets repeated on TalkingPicturesTV, and I always rewatch.
Sykes had hearing problems, and I’d guess that is what drew him to it.
I read that there was a 1979 remake that includes Charles Hawtrey, I’d love to see that.

Love that film. Have you seen Futtock's End, which is similar, (but a bit risqué in parts)?

MissAdventure Fri 10-Jun-22 15:04:10

I haven't seen that, but the name is very appealing. smile

Apparently Charlie Hawtrey plays the van driver’s mate in the remake. I wish TalikngPicturesTV would show the remake, I’d love to see it.

The name is a suitable warning. PC it ain't, but it's still funny.

I saw this a while back and wondered if it might be dated - well, it is a bit, but still very, very funny.
