I do watch these shows. Not a fan of Davina at all. But in our family we've experienced this.

My Dh had a true sibling that had been given ump for adoption. We were all in our 30s/40s/50s when she found us.

Very traumatic. Mum didn't want to meet daughter. Dad did. Some siblings did, but not all and it all just faded away/ No contact at all now.

I felt for the woman but it was just not going to work . Nobody really wanted to know.

One of the people in the show had had a DNA test and found her brother through the site. However, because he had not kept up the subscription fee, her sent messages could not be read by him unbeknown to her. The company did not inform her that of this fact. They blocked both of them meeting for nearly 20 years.
