This easy viewing series in back on Netflix. Anyone else watching? The scenery is great, the storylines a bit shallow, but I’m enjoying watching it. I think this must be the last series.

Yep I watched a couple of episodes at the weekend it’s easy watching.

Oh is the 4th ready? I have to intersperse it with some crime drama, or something scary, because VR is so fluffy!

I watched the first series but the doctor's estranged wife drove me up the wall she was ludicrous and spoilt the show for me

Yes, I'm watching it. It's cheesy and some of the characters are annoying eg. Hope, but it's easy viewing. I'm like you GagaJo, I intersperse it with miserable/scary stuff.

At the moment I am rewatching Bodyguard on NF (Keely Hawes & Richard Madden) which is gripping but stressful, so an episode of VR is relaxing before bedtime.

Yes, I agree. That's Hope and she's infuriating.

Hope drives me bananas as does Jack’s ex. Has anyone else finished season 4?

I have just signed up to Netflix again for the 4th series, watched two episodes yesterday. I hope to complete the whole series within one month's payment, as I prefer not to watch paid-for TV.
I find the subplots totally unbelievable for such a small population, and agree that Hope is infuriating. She is so far not up to being too annoying in the bits I have seen so far! Nevertheless it is pleasant viewing.

I've been surprised at the sex on series4. I always recommended it, and Chesapeake to those of a delicate disposition but it seems that they decided to spice things up a little for this series.
Hope is ridiculous but the series is very hammy. I watch it for the scenery.

I don’t find Hope as infuriating as Mel. She’s just too good to be true - or thinks she is.

LauraNorderr Sat 30-Jul-22 00:24:26

I’m with you Merlogran, Mel is too goody goody, frumpy and always looks as though a tragedy is about to befall her even when she’s supposed to be happy. Hope is irritating too but Mel more so.

Sorry missed out the letter t in Merlotgran

I love the setting. Jack is an unlikely pin up. Mel could do better than him.
They've just started filming series five

I have been watching the new series too. It’s a gentle watch. Hope was an irritating character but since her accident is slightly less so.
Can recommend This is Us on prime.

I like the way a feisty character like Hope is battling age and infirmity. All the older characters have so much more to them than the sickly sweet younger ones.

I didn't like Hope at first but she's grown on me. Not everyone can be young and sexy. I enjoy Virgin River as it's different from series which I normally watch and is nice gentle viewing.
Is anyone watching Sex Education?

Just finished Season 4 last night, a few loose ends/ cliffhangers so I'll be watching out for season 5.
Mel has been pregnant throughout Season 4 and she is still not showing...

In Virgin River and other soaps, I always smile at the people who run cafes, pubs, bars etc who are continually serving food/drinks and saying "It's on the house!" Do they ever make any money?
