Anyone still watching The Suspect on ITV? It's getting very exciting. Just watched the penultimate episode - last one next week!

Goodness, I wouldn’t have recognised the gorgeous Aidan Turner! I do have form, though, and am a bit (maybe a lot) face-blind.

We finally got to see the film Elvis yesterday, and I noticed that Tom Hanks was in the cast list at the end. DH patiently pointed out that he played Captain Tom Parker, who was on screen nearly as much as the actor playing Elvis. grin

He is lovely on the front cover of Radio Times

I really enjoyed it and hope it continues to be intriguing and gripping.

I don't like his "Brian Blessed" look. It's too much!

Well I enjoyed that last night I never recognise actors they are just the part they play so I come fresh to each new drama ? Yep that was good

?

It's time I booked a place in a home for the bewildered! No wonder I couldn't find it.

Yes, that's the one, and I agree that it was a damp squib. I think it's the short(ish) hair and long beard I don't like. This is much more like it ?

I am quite shocked that it was AT. Yes, it’s the mark of a good actor. Toni Collette is good at being unrecognisable in a lot of roles, too.

I’m trying to find the miniseries he was in when he looked the same as he does in this one, but I can’t. He was a teacher, I think, who was having an affair, and they ended up in a remote cottage in Ireland. I clearly didn’t pay much attention as I don’t remember more than that, though!

I didn’t watch Poldark, but had quite a crush on him in Leonardo.

I think you are thinking of ‘The Deceived’, but it wasn’t Aidan Turner in the main role.

It was Emmet J Scanlan, (or similar name), with black beard and hair. He was a teacher having an affair with a student, and I think he had killed his wife, an author, and he was jealous of her writing. They went to Ireland, and the gardener was the young man out of ‘Normal People’.

It turned out to be a bit of a damp squib as I recall,

I enjoyed it, but just kept wishing Aiden would shave off that bushy beard. I want to see his face.....

I enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next episode.

Sign of a good actor my DH did not recognise him either. I did not get the usual remarks about him I got all through Poldark . I only told him at the end so he would watch.
Medical ethics were broken but I enjoyed it and will watch it next week.

I knew it was Aiden Turner but he’s almost unrecognisable as Ross from Poldark, the mark of a good actor I suppose. I found it a bit weird but watchable although I missed the last 15 mins I nodded off while the adverts were on ?

Goodness, I kept thinking 'I've seen him before, but where' - I had no idea. Incredible.

We were both on the edge of our seats last night and can't wait for the next episode!

The jury is out here. A medical consultant does not tell a random police officer that the main character has recently been diagnosed with early onset Parkinsons. That is against medical ethics.

I will watch next week's episode and then decide.

I've read all the O'Loughlin books and enjoyed them. The actors portraying O'Loughlin & Ruiz are not at all how I imagined them but I will continue to watch.

No! It’s not Aiden Turner, is it? He was really gorgeous in Leonardo. He needs to ditch the full beard, then. I didn’t recognise him at all.

Biscuitmuncher Mon 29-Aug-22 23:51:03

Doodledog you cant warm to Poldark?? Hes gorgeous

Doodledog Mon 29-Aug-22 23:47:58

Yes, I know what you mean grin.

I quite enjoyed it, but there is something about the lead actor that I can’t warm to. He was in something on Netflix and I didn’t like him in that either. The other main character was besotted by him and I just kept wondering why. He’s creepy.

Watched the first episode tonight. It looks quite good, but it is confusing when the same actress appears in this and Ridley at the same time. And when a familiar actor appears as the friend of the Suspect you just know he has a bigger role to play, rather gives the game away or am I completely wrong?
You can tell I’m a great whodunnit/detective series fan!
