Chestnut the doctor's house & surgery, where I used to live, had a similarly impossible access.
A new surgery was built when that doctor retired, tho.

Has anyone noticed how completely wrong that is for a doctor's house??
Apart from being up a steep hill, look at the front steps, no good whatsoever for a wheelchair or a person with mobility problems. None of his elderly or immobile patients could get to the surgery. ?

The house that doubles as the surgery is for sale at around £1million if anyone is interested. Saw it in Cornwall Life magazine and lots on the actors as well.

I’ve never really watched it on a regular basis even though I used to live in that area and an old flame of mine was the locations manager for it. But I must buy the box set: it’s such a comfort blanket of a series. And, yes, I’ve seen documentaries that Martin Clunes has made and he does seem to be absolutely lovely. I’m desperate to have another holiday in Cornwall: we used to go back several times a year.

I thought it was the end in the last series - how exciting!

The ex and I used to binge watch some series, just because he organised it all and scheduled it in.

If I have a lot of episodes to get through I usually settle down at the same time every evening for one episode, that way I don't get fed up with it and they last longer. DM would take 2-3 months to watch all the way through. Lovely!
I used this technique for several marathon viewings, Upstairs & Downstairs, Tenko, All Creatures Great and Small, A Place to Call Home all of which had countless episodes!

Looks as if I'm going to be glued to "the box" to try and catch up!

I used to see bits and bobs at my mums, so I know he doesnt like blood, for instance.

It has always been a lovely 'feel good' programme which leaves you in a happy place unlike so many other programmes of today. But there have already been 9 series and this is the 10th so you would do best to start at the beginning. You'll have plenty to keep you going as that's about 60 episodes or more! ?

I'm a big fan of Martin Clunes, because I have it on good authority that he is just lovely in real life, too.
I must remember to watch!

I was just trying to remember how the last series ended and found this on Wiki which was a real cliffhanger:
The village prepares for Al and Morwenna's wedding. Ruth shows Louisa that young James is highly gifted and reminds her that, unlike Martin, James has two loving parents. Martin vomits during a surgery designed to test his control, and, at the wedding, he tells Louisa that he is no longer practising medicine. She replies with the news that she is pregnant.

MissA . There’s fancy; my childhood holidays were 3 nights in a damp boarding house in Margate or Dymchurch where bathroom and toilet were shared by all ‘guests’. Thrown out after breakfast and not allowed back til the evening.
Oh yes those were the days my friend.
No wonder we were all thrilled when cheap air travel to warm places arrived mid 60 s.
I am sure you will love it. It’s just nice but with a lemon twist from the grouchy Doc.

All of my holidays as a child were in Cornwall.

OH i like Doc Martin. Visited Port Isaac where it’s filmed a few years ago and walked up to the bench behind the house so if its caught in film I think ‘we sat there’ And what a view. We had lunch in the school house, in RL a pub.
