Doc Martin back next week!

I love Doc Martin but every episode I have to look away at some point. There is always a close up of an injury involving blood and gore which I can't stand.

The little boy is definitely taking after his father, by nature and by nurture. The serious pile of books in his briefcase alongside the beloved Teddy bear symbolised the two very contrasting sides of both their characters. I felt sorry for the Doc when he realised that all he had in his working life was his clocks. Even the empty dog basket reference was a sad reminder, but I can't wait to see the new dog arrive.
All in all I enjoyed it as much as before. I thought the wobbly car bit might turn into silly blood and gore, but in usual fashion it was kept light-hearted. A few changes in the shops around the village I recognised.

Plus a new series of Grand Designs which I recorded.
I enjoyed Doc Martin tonight and now feel quite sad that it’s the last series.
I loved how his little son is a mini version of Martin!
Poor Louisa having to cope with two of them!

It's always a traffic jam of programmes at 9pm, but I record them anyway to watch later.

If there's a clash of programmes we want to watch, we record the ones on the commercial channels. Then we can watch the programme later and fast-forward through the adverts.
Saves a surprising amount of time!

Thank goodness for recorders and iplayers, etc.

Love hapless PC Penhale and the way John Marquez portrays him!

I must admit, as a series, it had to grow on me.
To start with I thought it was really silly with daft, unbelievable characters, but gradually I grew to see its appeal.
Yes the silly characters are still there, the useless policeman, the woman permanently in a neck brace and the giggling teenage girls who walk past the doctor’s house, but if you accept all that and don’t take it too seriously, it’s an enjoyable bit of escapism.

We’ve been to Port Isaac many times when we’ve been in Cornwall, and I enjoy spotting the various buildings featured.

It’s a shame this new series will be the last.

I do love the Doc Martin tv shows.Very good acting from all and I particularly like the policeman, Doc Martin himself and
Joe.The lady who owns the chemist shop is also a favourite.The characters have their flaws like all humans but do their best to help neighbours and patients too.
Doc Martin has Aspergers so can't be charming but is a really good GP.
the Cornish scenery is delightful.

The house that doubles as the surgery is for sale at around £1million if anyone is interested. Saw it in Cornwall Life magazine and lots on the actors as well.

Paying for the lovely view. Anything that has a view of the sea in Cornwall will cost you. Wish we had bought one with a sea view years ago when it was affordable:and when no one was interested in buying them, what an investment that would have been.

My favourite part of Cornwall. All those walks we had from Polzeath, to Daymer Bay, to Rock and over on the ferry to Padstow. Wonderful times with a stop for a Cornish Pasty up on the headland in Padstow and always shared with the dogs. Days out in Port Isaac. Oh happy days.

Will be watching next week.

Has anyone noticed how completely wrong that is for a doctor's house??
Apart from being up a steep hill, look at the front steps, no good whatsoever for a wheelchair or a person with mobility problems. None of his elderly or immobile patients could get to the surgery. ?

Ah but Doc M goes and visits his patients.....

Is it the actor or the role you dislike Charleygirl? In real life he's lovely and such an animal lover. It just shows how good an actor he is that he can play awkward, grumpy Doc Martin so convincingly.

I cannot stand him so I will not be watching.

I love this series. Looking forward to it. Sorry it's the last one though ?
