Anything cheerful to recommend on TV?

Seaside Hotel (subtitles) is lovely in a gentle "farce" way. Not wild like a real farce but that kind of light touch. Funny - but not "laugh out loud".

It also has true and caring relationships alongside all the froth.

Totally silly. Really miss it!

Also "Offspring" - Australian drama/rom-com about a family where the protagonist is an obstetrician. She is good at her job but socially she's constantly questioning herself.
You get to hear what she's thinking.

Lots of quirky characters, wide extended family.

The "preview" episode is poor but bear with it.
Easy watching. Funny.

Just remembered 'Ever decreasing circles' is on BT iPlayer. I'd forgotten how good it was. So funny.

I second Schitts Creek, I was very sorry when it ended.

I preferred Parks and Recreation. Don't know where that's available since it came off Netflix.

I believe A Place to Call Home is on Amazon Prime, in which case you're covered for the rest of the winter. Just the best series ever made, great characters, great plot, great sets and costumes. It's about a wealthy family in post WW2 Australia, and covers many issues of the day but in a fabulous house in fabulous scenery!

I loved Anne with an E, but towards the end of the series it does highlight the disgraceful way Native Americans were treated.
