Recorded it, perhaps I won't bother.

If I remember correctly, wasn't Apple Tree Yard confusing?

I think it's gripping, but just glad I'm not off on holiday shortly. Yes, I think it is based on the attack on holidaymakers in Tunisia years ago.

I see the series was created and written by Louise Doughty who wrote Apple Tree Yard, a terrific book which was also dramatised on TV a few years. She's written a number of psychological thrillers.

Life’s too short when there’s so much good stuff ?

It needed longer before the dramatic action to work out exactly who’s who.
Apparently lots of viewers switched off as they found it too disturbing.

That's what I heard, too disturbing. So I'm not going to even try. I'm utterly fed up with dramas which are full of violence and gore, which seems to be the thing these days.

Not too impressed with the back and forth timelines. Or the running in corridors . Wonder if its based on a terror act some years ago in an hotel in Spain or Tunisia where holiday makers were killed ?
I don't like to admit defeat too early so will watch tonight's episode .

I can’t believe that Keeley who is such a good actress read this awful script and went for it.

Both my husband and I thought it was good; we binge watched.

Aveline Wed 21-Sept-22 16:01:24

I switched off. Just not for me.

I watched it last night, yes the running in corridors were confusing but there's an underlying thread going on to, I liked it.

That's how I felt about it Allsorts see what tonight brings

It only got 2 stars on the review I read, so I won’t be bothering. Apparently there’s lots of running in corridors and people speaking on phones when they should be quiet.

I listened to the author on Radio 4’s Front Row just beforehand and was reassured that this would be very different drama, not focussing on the violence and instead looking at the relationships. I lasted five minutes. It was horrible despite promising cast.

The jury is out here- I may watch it tomorrow evening. I certainly was not gripped.

I've given up. Had enough distress and misery lately.

GrandmasueUK Tue 20-Sept-22 21:48:14

Wow, it has me gripped so far. I’m stressed and holding my breath!

Kalu Tue 20-Sept-22 20:08:12

Thank you Sarah. I hadn’t heard about this. I will download the series to watch back to back. Keeley Hawes is such a good actress.

Doodledog Tue 20-Sept-22 19:41:13

I'll be watching.

Aveline Tue 20-Sept-22 19:02:49

Ooh. Sounds promising.

GrandmasueUK Tue 20-Sept-22 17:46:16

I’ve got it set to series record. I, too, like Keeley Hawes and also Lee Ingleby. I’m looking forward to it.
