Last week's postponed Strictly is on tonight at 7pm. Apparently Rose & Giovanni will be reprising their winning routine.

Joseanne Sat 15-Oct-22 21:29:08

If anyone I think maybe Ellie T and Johannes could be in trouble with their Viennese Waltz to Boom Bang A Bang. It was all a bit silly.

Matt and Will might not have many weeks left either.

Sparklefizz Sat 15-Oct-22 21:28:00

I'd like Arlene Phillips to come back as a judge, plus Darcy Bussell.

I think it's time for Matt to leave the competition.

I felt everybody had upped their game tonight, especially Tony who is not exactly a dancer. I do not really want anybody to be in the dance off but that is not how it works. Fleur and Tyler were exceptionally good.

I agree, Motsi and Shirley should be impartial with no standing ovations. I personally would not have them as judges next year.

I was so sorry for Will tonight. He was obviously not at all well and looked as if he desperately needed a hanky to wipe his nose! I hope he gets through as he has so much to give. I just loved Hamza. Those lifts were sensational. And, as for Fleur and Vito's Argentinian tango - whew! Reaching such heights so early in the series is staggering!

I feel the same about those three tonight.

Didn’t care for Tyler’s CC.

I really felt for Helen after the news about her ex this week. She must feel so raw poor girl.

I noticed that Will had disappeared and wasn't in any of the Clauditorium shots. Hope he's gone for a wee lie down. ?

Everyone upped their game didn't they? Great dancing. Fleur, Tyler and Will for the final imo.
But so many good performances.
Hamza, yes. What energy and the control of those lifts with that speed.

rafichagran Sat 15-Oct-22 20:37:01

Fluer, Hamza, and Tyler for me tonight. The dancing was lovely. I also enjoyed Tony Adam's, he has improved.

Sparklefizz Sat 15-Oct-22 20:28:56

Wow! What a night! As Craig said, they've all taken a dance pill.

But the stand out for me was Fleur's Argentine Tango. Fantastic. From dance off to that !!! What we would have missed if Shirley had had her way as Head Judge last week.

I also loved Will's Rumba, I don't care what the judges said. I found it very moving.

A wonderful evening of dancing. Some rubbishy stuff in between (sheep anyone?) but made up for by some massive improvements by the dancers.

merlotgran Sat 15-Oct-22 19:59:48

Some really great dancing this week.

Fleur and Vito's Argentine Tango!
Scorching Hot and so powerful. Mesmerising.

GrandmasueUK Sat 15-Oct-22 19:34:38

I must say that I really enjoyed Jayde’s and Karen’s dance tonight. I was never particularly a fan of Karen, until she was partnered with Chris Ramsey, then I saw a different side to her. I thought Jayde did very well tonight and she looked lovely. Hair, makeup and dress suited her really well, so hopefully she won’t have annoyed people by not dressing size-appropriate!

Joseanne

I far preferred Darcey to Shirley as a judge.
Shirley is being unpleasant to Fleur like she was to Maisie, (Tiff on Eastenders). Why?

She'll have to eat her words this week!

Fair enough, she did!
Amazing dance Fleur.

And tonight, Motsi has walnut whirls in her hair.

Oh, just had a glance.
They look like Tunnocks tea cakes.

I agree Joseanne, and although Jayde says she is strong and could lift Karen, she might not be able to lift her in a proper "dancer's lift" as she is not fit. I noticed how Jayde struggled to get up at the end of the Flashdance and Shirley commented on it.

Speaking of Shirley, I read a number of comments online about how she is very much "for" the male dancers and "against" the women, and the sexist comments that she makes. If those comments were being made by Anton about the female dancers, it would obviously be unacceptable, and it's not acceptable in reverse. She definitely has favourites when she is supposed to be neutral, especially as she's head judge. There are calls online for her to be replaced.

Jayde just lifted Karen. In proper lifts, not showy stuff.

Did she meet your exacting standards?

rafichagran Sat 15-Oct-22 19:12:07

Karen and Jade were lovely tonight.

Just realised there are (or were) 3 contestants with the surname Adams, and an East and a West.

Just a trivial observation.

Millie22 Tue 11-Oct-22 11:26:09

Yes Shirley and Motsi please keep your bums on your seats ?

Grannynannywanny Tue 11-Oct-22 10:55:29

I feel the same about the standing ovations for selected dancers dolphindaisy.

dolphindaisy Tue 11-Oct-22 10:30:56

I don't like it when Shirley (and Motsi) give some contestants a standing ovation, as judges they should be impartial. I've always thought Shirley shows blatant favouritism, she nit picks some contestants then gushes about others. She obviously knows more about dancing than most on here but we can still see a good dance as opposed to a mediocre performance. Saying she would have saved Ritchie on Saturday is totally baffling.
