Last week's postponed Strictly is on tonight at 7pm. Apparently Rose & Giovanni will be reprising their winning routine.

Sparklefizz Mon 12-Dec-22 20:48:18

I was just thinking the same Calendargirl

Calendargirl Mon 12-Dec-22 20:43:10

If Will gets voted out, hope there’s not too many tears.

rafichagran Mon 12-Dec-22 20:43:10

Hamza through, brilliant. I love watching him. I hope he wins, he is humble and never danced before, his progress is amazing.
I hope he wins.

Sparklefizz Mon 12-Dec-22 20:39:56

Claudia: "The best judges ever" ???

Calendargirl Mon 12-Dec-22 20:39:09

Agree Sparklefizz, cut out all the gushing, the tears, the OTT comments.

Not needed.

Sparklefizz Mon 12-Dec-22 20:31:55

Oh no, here we go with all the gushing - "a friend for life", "you're an amazing person" etc etc.

Sparklefizz Mon 12-Dec-22 20:31:14

Yes, that dress is different from her usual style.

Calendargirl Mon 12-Dec-22 20:28:38

I like Tess’s blue velvet dress.

Sparklefizz Mon 12-Dec-22 20:26:55

Fleur's in the dance off!

Grannynannywanny Mon 12-Dec-22 12:26:07

I’ve set an alarm on my phone to remind me to watch the results show this evening or I’d surely forget then stumble across the after show chat on here 😆

Sparklefizz Mon 12-Dec-22 11:26:23

I look forward to Strictly and discussing it on here because I live on my own and the cat is not great for giving opinions. smile (She does listen, though!)

Gosh, what a final it will be this year as there are some good dancers, but it depends which dance and the choice of music, I think, which can make such a difference.

Joseanne Mon 12-Dec-22 10:57:11

I look forward to Strictly on here each week because I get to chat with like minded people, all with different opinions, and because I learn interesting things, (thanks Maw for the tartan link). DH is quite good company for explaining the special effects from the sofa, (silly me thinking the bubbles were real in Hamza's routine!), but he doesn't chat about the costumes, hair dos and the emotional stuff!
I think we are in for the final two being the two H's, (no, not that H!), but from a purely dance perspective it would have to be Molly and Helen for me.

Mollygo Mon 12-Dec-22 09:44:53

If it relies on the public vote, it could well be a Molly/Fleur dance off. They seem to be least popular with the voters. I actually voted this week, for Molly and Will. Since I blanked the judges comments, that was purely on my enjoyment.

Ailidh Mon 12-Dec-22 09:26:11

I'm a Hamza fan but after that, a bit hazy.
I'll add in Helen, who won me over with Cabaret last week.
Will has done some good things but neither of them last night.
Fleur, I think. That's my three.

Sweetpeasue Mon 12-Dec-22 09:19:58

acceptable even.

Sweetpeasue Mon 12-Dec-22 09:18:44

Yes*Sparklefizz * Fleur is undoubtedly a really good dancer. Although the choreography isnt hers she interprets everything with an agressive manner.
Is it possible to 'over perform?'
I find it a bit off putting, though maybe more acceptible in some dances more than others.

honeyrose Mon 12-Dec-22 09:15:08

An all female final for me. Hamza’s a lovely humble bloke and obviously very well liked, but overmarked. Light on his feet, but those feet are often pointed inwards. His Argentine Tango a few weeks ago was nothing like an AT, but was much praised and highly marked. Will’s got too cocky and that couple’s choice - although well danced - not appropriate for the semis. A more structured dance was required. IMO.

Sparklefizz Mon 12-Dec-22 08:22:50

I always look forward to his dances.

I feel the same about Helen.

I think it will be Will who leaves tonight.

Fleur is a good dancer and the judges always mention that she is "powerful" - do they mean that aura of "aggression" around her dancing? (Especially in her Couple's Choice). It puts me off.

I'd like Helen & Gorka to win.

Sara1954 Mon 12-Dec-22 07:54:22

There have been some amazing dances this year, but I agree with Casdon, nothing has made me want to watch, and re watch over and over, except Hamza, who is so very watchable.
I think the girls are fantastic, and probably technically better, but there is just something about him, I always look forward to his dances.

Casdon Mon 12-Dec-22 07:48:02

That’s exactly it Calendargirl, if Hamza does win it will be because the public voted for him, me included. I don’t know what it is this year, the female dancers are good technically, but none of them have the spark in my opinion, which Hamza does have - I think it’s because he is uninhibited.

Calendargirl Mon 12-Dec-22 07:29:10

My comment about an all female final was meant because we can only vote for three to go through. I should think Molly/Fleur will be in the dance off alongside Will, with Will being voted out.

It will be Hamza still in, and if up to Shirley and Motsi, winner already decided.

But the public get the final say.

MawtheMerrier Mon 12-Dec-22 06:19:46

I remember reading about this tartan being designed for the Islamic community in Scotland.
www.islamictartan.com/endorsements.php
(Hamza has lived in Glasgow since he was 8)

Sara1954 Mon 12-Dec-22 06:09:29

I’m not keen on Will, but to be fair I don’t usually enjoy the couples choice, and I definitely didn’t enjoy Wills.
I love Hamza, but I agree he does sometimes seem overmarked, I think the judges can see something we can’t see at home.

Joseanne Sun 11-Dec-22 22:59:30

I think I've just found Hamza's kilt tartan in a lambswool scarf. Reduced too, so might make a good Christmas present. I like the colours.

BigBertha1 Sun 11-Dec-22 22:23:36

Loved Hamzas Charleston. Both Wills ' dances were an ego trip that didn't work he should go I think or Fleur her dancing always looks as though she's losing control.Helen did well but she is stiff.
