Frozen Planet II last night was amazing

I also enjoyed Frozen Planet , though I felt cold watching it !
Wrapped in a blanket with a mug of tea - it was very enjoyable .

I didn't know about the different species of seals .

I've seen killer whales doing wave washing before - you have to admire their technique !

I am haunted by an episode from the last series where a poor seal's eyes died as he slipped from his floe in his hopeless fight against these whales. It is wonderful photography

The photography is just astonishing. It's wonderful what can be achieved today.

As a child, when we eventually rented a tiny black and white TV set, the wildlife programmes consisted of Armand and Michaela Dennis (remember them?) riding in the back of an open truck photographing animals from a distance, all shown in black and white of course, and also Hans and Lottie Haas.

Nowadays the shots are fantastic.

A wonderful but at times heartbreaking programme. The image of the baby penguin succumbing to hypothermia will stay with me for a long time.

Oh yes - fabulous photography but sometimes so sad to watch! It’s so amazing that they are able to capture such detail!
The penguins and snow petrels self defence tactics, the latter automatically knowing and cleaning themselves with snow!
Love this programme - even though it’s had me in tears

What a strange comment!!!
Every episode he warns that so much is changing so very, very fast, due to climate change. So many of the habitats disappearing year on year,

Perhaps you need to watch these programmes and be more aware of how the planet is being changed.

It was fabulous, wasn't it? Any documentary by Sir David Attenborough brings the world closer and reminds us what what we could lose. That poor baby penguin shivering! And the tactical way that the killer whales work together.
