I've never taken much notice of him really. I had no idea that he designed and made the sculpture of Eleanor Rigby in Liverpool or that he could paint.

I watched it as well, he was my very first teen idol, I thought he was lovely then, and still do. Great programme.

PS, I was disappointed not to hear Singing the Blues. I went to the pictures to see the Tommy Steele Story, but my grandma had to take me as I wasn`t old enough to get in on my own. I loved the film, she slept through it, lol!

I used to love Tommy Steele and he was a good Catford boy,too.
