I'm a celebrity

I can’t see another thread so apologies if there is
After years of not bothering with “I m a celebrity get me out of here” I decided to have a look as I like Boy George
And I have to say I m in now so will need to keep watching this ridiculously daft programme even if it’s just to combat the depressing days
Anyway what do you all think ?

Smileless2012 Fri 18-Nov-22 15:46:01

Maybe we could run MissA's & Smileless' meals on wheels or MissA's & Smileless' kiosk MissA.

I'd be hopelessblush. Can't stand confined spaces, rats, cockroaches and spiders. Hopeless at swimming. Gag when watching the eating trials so couldn't do that. Gag at unpleasant smells so couldn't empty the dunny; not sure I could use it TBH.

Would be OK with snakes and heights but that's it really so the jungle definitely isn't the place for me.

MissAdventure Fri 18-Nov-22 15:36:57

So all in all, I've just realised I'm a lost cause, despite my crocodile fighting skills (and a spider de-clutterer. Thanks fanny)

Callistemon21 Fri 18-Nov-22 15:35:14

It's often best to leave on a high, Aveline wink

It's been all downhill since then.

MissAdventure Fri 18-Nov-22 15:33:46

That plank is horrific.
I couldn't even go out onto my balcony when I lived in a first floor flat.

Aveline Fri 18-Nov-22 15:30:04

I'd already have given up and left the programme at walking the plank off the high building.

Callistemon21 Fri 18-Nov-22 15:24:32

It's the small spiders that are most dangerous.

Inspect the dunny before you sit down!

I'd swim with a crocodile, but not if there was a spider around. grin

Not a saltie 😲

Well, only if there were no spiders in there.

I think my fear of spiders would make it impossible for me to do anything useful at all, so I'd have to say I couldn't go in the jungle.

Oh, that’s such a shame, you’d definitely be an asset to our team.

Like Ringo was in The Beatles and was everyone’s mate, so he kept everything on an even keel.

Perhaps I could constantly walk in front of you, de-spidering the environment? 🤔

Well they show a stock film of an alligator with snapping teeth to make you wince, but does the one in the trial have teeth? Who knows.

The ones they use look like freshwater crocodiles, not saltwater crocs which are more dangerous.

MissAdventure Fri 18-Nov-22 14:52:19

I couldn't do spiders, eating or heights challenges, and I wouldn't want to be the camp cook.

I'd rather clean the loos, frankly.

Joseanne Fri 18-Nov-22 14:10:05

I'd like to be the chef as my area of expertise but I wouldn't have a clue with some of those ingredients.
The toilet looks a bit primitive, but I'd have to get used to it.
I'd enjoy joining in the dancing to liven up the camp.
No trials with birds for me or snakes, but furry things and spiders are ok.

maddyone Fri 18-Nov-22 13:26:36

I think all the animals will be well fed and rested before being used in the trials. The crocs do worry me though.

I don’t have a fear of snakes or spiders. I’ve been to many animal handling sessions with my grandchildren over the years and felt at ease handling snakes, tarantulas etc. But rodents I can’t bear to look never mind touch.

I wondered how they managed to make it safe to have a fair sized alligator swimming in the tank with Matt Hancock. Surely it had a set of teeth that could have done serious damage.

FannyCornforth Fri 18-Nov-22 12:45:59

They only bite if really provoked I think (I have had several pet rats, they are lovely pets, really bright like little dogs).
I think as in Jennie’s case they are instructed to keep very still.
I’m sure they have lots of productions staff fussing about throughout.
I’m sure the rats in there are the domesticated type and relatively hygienic.
What would affect me is the way Ant & Dec try to induce the contestants to be scared. I’m very suggestible and would be on the verge of hysteria at times!

I'm actually really surprised these animals in the trials never seem to bite or sting them. Don't snakes and rats bite when they get annoyed?

One of our AC keeps snakes, they are only aggressive/ tend to bite when they are hungry, otherwise they are really chilled and just a bit nosy.

FannyCornforth Fri 18-Nov-22 12:40:30

I don’t know about the rats. Interesting

FannyCornforth Fri 18-Nov-22 12:39:31

The snakes aren’t the biting type or are defanged.
One however slipped through the Health and Safety net and bit Sean Ryder.
He was super cool and brave about it and just carried on with the task while his hand was dripping with blood

I guess it depends if you'd rather be shut in a dark coffin with rats or snakes. I would definitely choose rats.

Grannynannywanny Fri 18-Nov-22 12:34:27

Yes Chestnut it was similar but I found the rats so much worse to watch. I actually just had a look on YouTube to see if it was there but I couldn’t bring myself to watch it. I was surprised to see it was 7 years ago.

For anyone who wants to see it just search “Jennie Bond rats” and it will come up.

^How does everyone think that they would fare in the jungle?
What would your strengths and weaknesses be?^
No strengths, only weaknesses! Scared of all the animals and all the creepy crawlies, scared of heights, and only prepared to go under water in a clean swimming pool, not the poo infested filthy water they use. In other words, I just wouldn't do it!
