I'm a celebrity

I can’t see another thread so apologies if there is
After years of not bothering with “I m a celebrity get me out of here” I decided to have a look as I like Boy George
And I have to say I m in now so will need to keep watching this ridiculously daft programme even if it’s just to combat the depressing days
Anyway what do you all think ?

FannyCornforth Fri 18-Nov-22 12:31:09

I’m sure that I’d be okay with all of the animal ones, although I’d moan constantly (and annoyingly) about the cruelty.
I’m not scared of rats or snakes at all.
I’m terrible with heights though, it would be a struggle to get me in there in the first place.
I’d be squealing like a pig on the rope bridge

I swear sometimes I dont think I disrespect my family. To be honest I learnt it from my dad grin

Most people swear including royals. I'm not saying they don't swear in private. The difference is that here we have a member of the royal family swearing in full view of the public on a main TV channel and the BBC no less. That would never have happened in the past.

The worst challenge I ever saw was a few years ago. Jennie Bond was put into a grave like pit in complete darkness and a large number of rats were sent in beside her. I can’t remember how many minutes she had to endure it to earn the stars but she managed it. It was horrific!
Isn't that what Matt did a few days ago? Buried underground in the dark with snakes.

Grannynannywanny Fri 18-Nov-22 12:16:59

I can’t swim so I’d have to be excused from any under water related challenges. I have an irrational fear of rodents but I wouldn’t be foolish enough to tell them that on the way in or the rats would all be saved for me. I had to look away during Scarlett’s challenge last night.

Apart from water and rats I’d give anything else a go.

Oh my God I would be terrible. I would work hard but I can be a bit anti social at times so would go and lock myself in the RV or something to escape people. It wouldnt be the most entertaining TV.

Gnw I really like stinking as an insult! I think I may start bandying it around on here!

Joseanne what a cracking thought!
How does everyone think that they would fare in the jungle?
What would your strengths and weaknesses be?

Joseanne Fri 18-Nov-22 11:56:54

This thread is so random, and funny, at times. I'd love to be in the jungle with you all!

Grannynannywanny Fri 18-Nov-22 11:54:46

I think the day when King Charles was justifiably annoyed at the leaky pen he referred to it as “this stinking pen”
If the eyes of the world weren’t on him I suspect he might have used a stronger word.

Galaxy Fri 18-Nov-22 11:53:45

Phew I much prefer your explanation.

Perhaps it's the site I used to look it up fanny. I googled naff off and it started talking about elephants vagina shock

Blimey! shock
It must have been Urban Dictionary (Ive accidentally terrified and repulsed myself with it several times).
It is Polari and stands for
Not Available For F***ing, aka a straight man
It’s ironic that a term for a straight man has become an insult!
I suspect that Anne was using it as an alternative for ‘eff’
I hope it wasn’t anything to do with Nelly and her chums

Mange tout, Fanny, mange tout

Galaxy the meaning behind ‘naff’? It’s polari!
Fantabulosa, my bona palone! ⭐️

Galaxy Fri 18-Nov-22 11:19:07

I really wish I hadn't just looked up the meaning.

Callistemon21 Fri 18-Nov-22 11:14:22

I remember her telling photographers to Naff Off!!

It's not as polite as some think.

As I said, I think he has disrespected the royal family by his behaviour and swearing. Just a few years ago I would never have believed in a million years I would ever hear a member of the royal family use the F word on TV.

Of course Royals swear, they are human beings not Gods.

The Princess Royal is a horse woman as is her daughter, speaking from experience their language is colourful to say the least

My Dad never ever swore.
I learnt everything I know from other sources 😀

I agree. Zara could have done better.

Perhaps he's different away from that contrived atmosphere.

They seem to be a happy family.

I think he is being rather over cautious as he is totally aware that actions/words can be contorted in the edit suite and controversially could be used as the proverbial stick to beat the Royal Family

You dare Callistemon. Let’s hope Zara isn’t reading grin

Mike Tindall is a complete disappointment. I thought he’d be a good sport and really nice person but he’s not.

Dare I say - he's rather boring!

I do think their 'holes' should be protected. It was horrible for Jill to have that creature in her ear and what if one of those creepy crawlies had bitten or stung one of them inside the ear? That strikes me as possibly dangerous.

That was dreadful.
Cockroaches will rarely bite but if they are stressed, who knows. Some people may be allergic to a cockroach bite.
The insects and animals bred for the series will be considered harmless, obviously but those spiders look possibly like Huntsmen. They can give a really nasty bite (I know!).

I read somewhere that they are donated to animal sanctuaries afterwards as food for their animals.
Part of the food chain I suppose.

Owen sounds starving
He looks thinner already.
