I'm a celebrity

I can’t see another thread so apologies if there is
After years of not bothering with “I m a celebrity get me out of here” I decided to have a look as I like Boy George
And I have to say I m in now so will need to keep watching this ridiculously daft programme even if it’s just to combat the depressing days
Anyway what do you all think ?

I started watching I’m A Celeb when it was set in Wales - I preferred it there. It seemed more interesting somehow. David Ginola was the star last year, even though he didn’t win.
I’m glad Olivia Attwood has gone - her trout pout was annoying me. She’s a prime example of why many young girls have a poor self-image. I’d like to know what she’d look like without all the ‘work’ she’s had done. Apparently she left for medical reasons - perhaps something has fallen off! 😂 I suppose it’s not PC to say that.🙄 Owen’s nice but dim. I think Jill or Mike should win. They’re good examples of sports celebrities. I enjoy the prog because I like to see the interaction between such different people. I’m not keen on the tasks, except for their ability to bond or divide the group.

Mindlessnes has its place I reckon.

It's probably quite good for mental health to zone out of real life for a while.

sodapop - I feel exactly the same about the Royal Family - at least with I'm a Celeb it's just for a month at most but the RF - honestly, I can't sit at my computer without at least three of the 'news stories' referring to the princes, their wives, what tales they're going to add to the cauldron popping up every time I sit at my desk - this has been ongoing since the death of the Queen when we had almost a news blackout on anything but the RF. I think this is far more serious than the 'bombardment' of clips and info about I'm a Celeb - at least that's not aimed to indoctrinate.

Think I watched the first series years ago. I wouldn't waste my time now. It is mindless tv.

Nannan2 Wed 09-Nov-22 11:37:46

Its time they call it a day on all of the 'reality show' rubbish- theres far too many and its just for channels to fill a few weeks air time before xmas programmes are up- when do the tv companies realise all the reality cr*p has had its day now- time to give us some real programmes.🤨

MissAdventure Wed 09-Nov-22 11:37:39

I'm trying to remember who ended up snuggling up to a rat in his bed a few years ago... very funny!

Zoejory Wed 09-Nov-22 11:35:58

It's a set in a jungle.

MissAdventure Wed 09-Nov-22 11:35:41

I think it's ok to watch if you only do it in snippets.

It's a bit like the daily mail in that respect. smile

Nannan2 Wed 09-Nov-22 11:33:30

Ive never bothered with it but sometimes see snippets advertisdd- or last 10 mins if im waiting for whatevers on next occasionally. But my son wanted to know if matt Hancock's gone in so we looked.(wasnt last night) but sons convinced none of em are in a real jungle and says it looks like a 'set'- im inclined to agree those leaves looked a bit 'plasticky' if you ask me.I reckon its all fake.Rubbish programme.😅

Gillycats Wed 09-Nov-22 11:32:50

I’m with razzmatazz, it’s awful. How people can find it entertaining I’ll never know. Those poor insects and other creatures, it’s sickening.

Madashell Wed 09-Nov-22 11:31:00

Anyone who is disgusted by Hancock et al and their handling of the pandemic, sending infected people back to care homes, track and trace sh*te, PPE scandal, breaking his own rules should not watch this programme. I suppose it depends how strong your morals are. Hancock has not one ounce of self awareness, this is part of him trying to rehabilitate his brand, by watching this programme you are contributing to that.

razzmatazz Wed 09-Nov-22 11:29:48

And takes us into December when the World Cup starts.

razzmatazz Wed 09-Nov-22 11:29:08

Loathe it with a passion. I'd rather watch paint dry. It's more interesting.

Juicylucy Wed 09-Nov-22 11:23:37

10million tuned in Sunday night to watch them all go in. Very popular program, I love it, it takes us into December when Christmas films start.

dumdum Wed 09-Nov-22 11:22:48

Watched it for the first time when in Wales and needed a lighthearted alternative to the doom and gloom of Covid. Like it now as a relief from misery.

FannyCornforth Wed 09-Nov-22 11:06:53

Sorry for confusing everyone with Steve Allen!
He is something of a strange obsession of mine, as BlueBelle probably knows! grin

Joseanne Wed 09-Nov-22 08:02:04

I'm not sure, Zoejory. I think he said in his VT last night something like he wanted to show he was human, just like everyone else, the normal guy etc. That to me sounds like trying to win credibility at his real job. He wouldn't last minutes in TV.

Zoejory Wed 09-Nov-22 07:49:36

MH has gone in because he believes his political career is over.

He's possibly got his eye on career in TV but I think he's being hugely optimistic

Bridie22 Wed 09-Nov-22 07:47:45

Didn't realise, thanks

Joseanne Wed 09-Nov-22 07:31:25

Steve Allen is a red herring. He only got nentioned on here as being friends with Chris Moyle, not as a contestant. He is a broadcaster.

Bridie22 Wed 09-Nov-22 07:10:16

It's not Steve Alan bluebelle it's Sean Walsh 😄 not that I'm any the wiser who he is !!!

MissAdventure Wed 09-Nov-22 00:26:34

It reminds me a bit of how it used to be, years ago.

OnwardandUpward Wed 09-Nov-22 00:23:47

I know grin

Yes they seem a very nice bunch of people (which doesn't always make for interesting viewing haha)

So far, my faves are Mike Tindall, the lady football player whose name I cannot remember and Owen from Hollyoaks. Also think Sue from Corrie seems to have her head screwed on well and seems very balanced.

I think, for all his chanting and zen stuff, Boy George might have a hissy fit soon.

MissAdventure Wed 09-Nov-22 00:21:41

I can't say I'm keen on him, either.

I really can't believe he would have the nerve to put himself potentially in the firing line.

It may be a political move?

merlotgran Wed 09-Nov-22 00:13:48

Matt Hancock gives me the creeps.
