I can’t see another thread so apologies if there is
After years of not bothering with “I m a celebrity get me out of here” I decided to have a look as I like Boy George
And I have to say I m in now so will need to keep watching this ridiculously daft programme even if it’s just to combat the depressing days
Anyway what do you all think ?

Callistemon21 Tue 22-Nov-22 11:27:05

Perhaps Sue was channelling her inner Miriam Margolyes

For some reason, some people love Miriam.

Just spotted an article about Owen saying 'get me out of here' twice when he was doing his trial, buried in water with snakes and critters. Ant and Dec looked a bit confused because it could have been read as a plea to end the trial, but I think everyone assumed he was just expressing himself. Only Owen could have said those actual words by mistake!

Yes, and why does she announce all her toilet activities ?

Yes, that was off putting.

That was disgusting, especially whilst others were eating.

Joseanne Tue 22-Nov-22 12:15:45

Yes Chestnut, he wanted to get out of each individual section and on to the next ASAP. Though it did sound funny using those words.

Aveline Tue 22-Nov-22 12:39:28

I'm sure all the contestants would be talking about the toilet facilities and their visits. It must have been pretty awful so bound to have been commented on. It's just the editors who chose to use that snippet of film.
I'm no fan of Sue and have been disappointed to see 'Eileen' behave so unpleasantly.

Chestnut Tue 22-Nov-22 12:43:46

I can't even begin to imagine what has been going on in their bowels after eating all that weird stuff, especially after the eating and drinking trials. I would be throwing up on a daily basis. I won't even eat the fat on my meat so I would NEVER go on this programme, never, never, never.

Joseanne Tue 22-Nov-22 12:59:31

That's true Aveline and I'm sure it had no bearing on her being voted out.

Zoejory Tue 22-Nov-22 13:45:48

She wasn't voted out. Not enough people voted for her to stay.

Aveline Tue 22-Nov-22 13:47:45

I wish we could vote people out.

Joseanne Tue 22-Nov-22 13:56:22

Oops yes.
I'm sure the toilet talk had no bearing on her receiving the least number of votes!

LauraNorderr Tue 22-Nov-22 13:59:30

I was about to say the same Zoe.
Same with Scarlette, too nice and unassuming to make enough of an impact on people in her case.
I do think Sue was quite vulgar, she twice shouted her goodbyes to people leaving camp for trials with the words ‘I’m having a dump’. If she had to proclaim her whereabouts she could have said ‘I’m in the loo’ or ‘I’m otherwise engaged’.
I agree with Maddy and others that Matt should not have demeaned the role of MP by taking part, he should be in his constituency and hard at work BUT I think people have chosen to vote for him in approval of his attitude in camp. Matt the man, uncomplaining, no bitching behind backs, showing strength of character.
The great British public don’t like being told what to think, with BG, Chris, Sue and Ant and Dec all slagging him off earlier, I feel it garnered sympathy for him. Same happened with the hate fest that followed Carol Thatcher in to the jungle, people grew to like her.
Dare I say Obama threatening to push us to the back of the queue might have swung a few votes in favour of Brexit on the same premise.

Joseanne Tue 22-Nov-22 14:06:01

The great British public don’t like being told what to think, that's exactly it Laura. And the great British public have a sense of fairness at the time.

Aveline Tue 22-Nov-22 14:37:50

I knew one of the producers of IACGMOOH at the time and Carol Thatcher had a colossal amount of votes. She was so popular that they knew she would win days before the final votes.

He didn't say the magic words "I'm a celebrity ....."

I'm looking him a lot more, really felt for him when the snakes were in the tank, although they were small ones.
And the baby crocodiles - they still have teeth!

Callistemon21 Tue 22-Nov-22 15:10:17

Liking him (not looking)

Aveline Tue 22-Nov-22 15:16:28

I'm liking him too. However, it feels bad to be laughing at him so much. He doesn't sound the sharpest. All that stuff about being amazed that fingers are like little arms!

Joseanne Tue 22-Nov-22 15:39:55

And yet, he comes out with some very mature, emotionally intelligent stuff like telling Seann to pesevere and go back in for a 2nd and 3rd chance in life. I think he likened it to playing a video game; like you die and you have to go back to the first level, but you know how to do it really.

Aveline Tue 22-Nov-22 15:59:49

He's a kind lad right enough but video games as life guides?

Joseanne Tue 22-Nov-22 16:05:54

If it's meaningful to him and it works, that's all that matters.
(You can tell I'm writing school reports this week, always look for the best in the less academic kids!)

This belongs in the thread about 'what is common' because saying you're having a dump is very common!

Joseanne Tue 22-Nov-22 16:23:03

Uncouth.

Owen's probably earning far more than some academics!

He did say he went to university, I don't know what his subject was.

MissAdventure Tue 22-Nov-22 16:31:40

It's meaningful in that therapy, and so on teach a person just that.

You could spend years in therapy, the end outcome, the end goal, is to give people the means to cope and carry on.

Millie22 Tue 22-Nov-22 16:33:51

Uncouth and revolting.
