Newsreaders - nothing, male or female, to take away from what being discussed. Definitely be culture sensitive, and that goes for UK newsreaders since the audience can be more than nationwide.
"Strictly" is another matter altogether - its glitzy entertainment therefore clothing "codes" completely different. I dont happen to like over spilling boobs either - just personal preference I suppose- I don't find it very sexy either: and know men who feel the same.
For men and women I think "more attractive"` is often that which "hints but doesn't flash" ie "one might want to find out more" rather than upfront.
A personal thing I have is that I find men in power suits most UN attractive - dress to impress just turns me off. I prefer quirky/expressive/individual without it necessarily sexualising I think on both men and women
