The Disappearance of April Jones

Did anyone watch this 3-parter on C4? Whilst the story of April's disappearance and the subsequent arrest and trial of Mark Bridger was well done, DH and I were very uncomfortable with the "look how clever I am" camera shots, the carefully posed close-ups of April's sister (not that I don't think she was devastated, she clearly was) and the whole art-house movie feel of the programme.

We didn't feel it gave due weight to what had happened to April and how shocked the country was at the time. Not a patch on "Little Boy Blue" and somehow not a proper memorial to that sweet little girl.

I'd be interested to know the views of anyone else who watched.

I wonder how much she got paid for her participation

We live in Wales and I remember going through Machynlleth not long after, The whole place was very quiet with hundreds of pink ribbons everywhere. The utter sadness did not come across in the programme.
I thought it was telling when Jaz said ‘ Nobody asked how I was’.
Obviously she bears some sort of grudge, but against who?

I couldn't bear to watch it. It still feels so fresh and upsetting. That poor dear little child.

I've recorded it , but not watched it yet .
I need a triple brandy to get through it .

I look at photos of her dear little face and tears fill my eyes .

My Welsh family were deeply affected by the disappearance of April .

Her death and that of every other innocent child is the stuff of nightmares .

If only these perpetrators could be isolated from society so that children can live safely .

They never found her body? How could he have disposed of it so well, so quickly??

It's believed that it was burnt and parts were thrown into the nearby river .

I still remember the photos of Sarah Payne and the agony of her parents especially her mother .

I pray for Maddie McCain and her parents .
