I was glad to see that there were three more episodes of this classy drama. I watched episode one yesterday and found myself distracted from the story by the beautiful backgrounds to the scenes. Gorgeous early 20th century rooms full of lovely furnishings. The tiled panelling in one room was particularly fabulous. The costumes, acting and story were pretty good too. A great Sunday afternoon watch with a cat on my knee and tea and fruit cake to hand.

Yes, Aveline, I've watched it, having been on a binge watch of anything Viennese lately. They really know how to do sumptuousness in that drama, the backgrounds are fabulous and representative of the baroque grandeur of the time. The ladies hair and dresses are perfect.
Don't you think there are many dramas or films where the location and backgrounds are themselves the real stars? Paris and Parisian life wins hands down for me with the portrayal of elegance and style in every scene.

Sorry I didn't mean it was set in the baroque era, but the style of it in the background.

Once we have finished Troubled Blood tonight we are in for a bloody night of it, immediately moving on to Vienna Blood. 😂

Thanks for the heads up Aveline. Looking forward to watching this.

Just started the new series as we enjoyed watching the first two - agree that the background and costumes are gorgeous.

I'm guessing those beautifully crafted staircases, the wood panelling and the furniture were made from the beech and oak trees in the Viennese woods. It is all very true to the location.

I like the working friendship between Oskar and Max.

Also find Oskar very attractive, in a vulnerable sort of way.

Needs the love of a good woman.

Perhaps he’s found one?

Every series has been good.

Love the period in which it is set.

Oskar has lovely eyes.
It's a really good production on every level.

Vienna does have some fabulous locations both inside and out, the Altstadt for one. Yes, to all the above.

Joseanne if you love Paris based programmes be sure to watch 'Emily in Paris'. New series just out. The storyline is nonsense but the setting is great and the clothes? High fashion but daft. V entertaining.

Yeah, great all round, scenery, clothes, acting and story.
Love those Edwardian dresses.
Oskar attractiveblush but Max not at all.
Bit Sherlock isn’t it?

Beautiful architecture and costumes.

The only reason I watched Emily in Paris and will watch the new series is for views of Paris but……the chap who plays the chef is very easy on the eye. Phwoar!

Aveline 👍 thanks.
