I enjoyed it .

It was very enjoyable. Poor Miriam faced with that calf's head! No wonder all the cooking was left to the servants. And the crackers at Fortnums! There was me wondering if I'd been extravagant spending £10 on a box of crackers when there are people out there spending £500 or £1,000!

Yes I enjoyed it too. Disappointed by the lack of bad language though 😆

Greed and gluttony in Dickens's time? Heaven forfend! Exposing and excoriating it was his stock in trade.

There’s a new You’re Dead to Me BBC podcast about Dickens and A Christmas Carol on BBC Sounds.

Yes I also enjoyed. I had presumed no swear words from Miriam as children in situ.

What did surprise me is that even in Charles Dickens times, there was greed and glutony . It was nice to see Miriam enjoying Christmas (at least she was honest about the "soup" )

There was a very negative review of this programme featuring Miriam Margolyes in the paper today and I almost didn’t watch it.

I’m so pleased I changed my mind it was excellent and M M didn’t swear once!

If you like Dickens and are interested in his life and how he came to write Christmas Carol this is for you.

So pour yourself a Christmas tipple or a hot drink and sit back and enjoy.
