Christmas adverts for perfume.

This is my first ever post on here so please bear with me and be kind. Why are the adverts for perfumes at Christmas so abundant and also very irritating? That Daisy one is insufferable and it's on in every ad break. I understand quite a lot of people will want perfume for Christmas but is there really any need for it?

I really like them. I think my favourite is the John Paul Gautier one with the sailors. I must admit though that I can't remember the names of the perfumes. (Except for Daisy Daisy!)
I am not saying that you shouldn't be irritated, just that not everybody is.

Practically all adverts irritate me, especially the Argos one at the start of every Corrie episode - the stupid tune drives me mad. I end up recording most programmes so I can whiz through the adverts.

I have to agree with the Daisy Daisy advert being insufferable. I have to mute the sound when it comes on!

They want them to irritate you, thats the whole point!!! Because then you will talk about it to friends and family, thereby extending it's range far and wide.
I do love the perfume ads, they are sumptous to watch, just saying....

We mute all adverts as they are monotonous and very very loud. Dior seems to be doing so much advertising. Thank goodness for the mute button.

Another who particularly dislikes Daisy daisy.

I think the Daisy advert is quite charming and it’s clever marketing because it’s the perfume that everyone remembers.

Why bother muting it? It only lasts a few seconds.

Are people really that impatient?

What is charming about the Daisy Daisy girls prancing around with little bust support? I bet the men love it, but probably won't be buying! It really annoys me!

I love the Chanel ad, here is a link to the full version, the actress in the clip is the singer and the male is a professional ballet dancer.

Daisy, Daisy, Daisy has to be one oof most appalling of perfume adverts. Or the most appalling advert ever. It's creepy and gruesome. I loathe it.

However I do like some of the perfume adverts. The one with the beautiful Zendeya on horseback has a great song with it as well. Also I like the Chanel one with a couple dancing in the stars. I rather like the music that goes with that one

But my absolute favourite is this one. This is the second one with this charming young man. No explanation needed.

The Johnny Depp aftershave one annoys me because he no longer looks like that and I just think of all the unsavoury details that came out about him during the trial. I used to think he was wonderful.

I must admit that I always stop what I’m doing and watch that one. I like the way she looks at him and smiles at the end. It’s a beautiful smile.

Oh ! yes

Callistemon21 Thu 22-Dec-22 15:53:43

Is the Daisy perfume aimed at 12 year olds?

Yes, we all remember the advert but wouldn't dream of buying the perfume ever, even if asked!

We always mute it too.

Has my great grandmother come back to life?

🤣🤣🤣

Curlywhirly Thu 22-Dec-22 15:58:18

I can't bear the Miss Dior one - the actress lies in a field of flowers and then she looks to camera and says in a sneery voice 'what would you do for love? Arrgh!!!

Chocolatelovinggran Thu 22-Dec-22 16:37:18

The Daisy Daisy girls need their adenoids removed: terrible nasal voices.

Not perfume but my favourite is The Old Spice one a few years ago "I'm the man your man could smell like" "I'm on a horse!" Love it
