Had visitors so couldn’t watch it tonight but it’s on my list for the week between Christmas and the New Year when I always have a very enjoyable catch up.

What accent did the young Jewish evacuee have? I was expecting a London cockney type accent.

Perhaps she was from Leeds or Sheffield?

I cannot believe a housekeeper would refuse to put a tot of whisky in her enployer's tea as he had requested . Instead she hoped he would drink his tea and go to bed.

Thoroughly enjoyed it, made me look at that time through less rose tinted specs.

I thought he was surprised there was a tot in the tea. She had made a “nightcap” so he would go to bed.

Housekeepers especially those like Mrs Hall who runs a small but busy household can be expected to be quite bossy. Not all households are like Downton Abbey!
