Motherland.

Found Motherland quite poignant last night.

Julia, Amanda, both with their difficult relationships with their mothers.

Julia, always so sharp and scathing with her mum, came across as so vulnerable at the end, as did Amanda.

Great acting from Anna Maxwell Martin and Lucy Punch.

Made me a bit tearful.

I enjoyed it, I know it was sad but there was a lot of food for thought there for all Mothers and Daughters over Christmas. Motherland is a great title as in the show the many dynamics of different Mother/Daughter relationships are shown. As OH and I have to keep reminding ourselves about his Mum in her 90's, our time with her is precious, time limited and we have so many good things to be thankful to her for.

I don’t usually watch Motherland and only watched it last night because it was followed by Two Doors Down. Both programs had me in Christmas tears but I did enjoy them.
I’ll be looking for more of Motherland on catch up

Not sure how many series of ‘Motherland’ there’s been. The first one was very good, felt the last series had gone off rather. The arrival of the neighbours over the road, the jacket and hat present owners, did not add to it for me.

If you watch them from the beginning, it will make sense of all the different relationships/friendships.

We loved it and it helps that the acting is so good. We watched the programme before about the scene of crime cleaner and that was poignant too.

I love Motherland. I think there have been 3 series and a Christmas special Calendargirl. I wonder if I’ve missed a new episode. I didn’t notice it was on last night. I saw a Christmas special last week but it was a repeat of 2021 episode. I enjoyed watching it again. Funny and moving. It was the episode at Amanda’s party when they spilled the wine on the bedroom carpet. Was that repeated last night or is there a new one?

I love Motherland too. There have been three series and a previous xmas special, but last night's was a new one, Grannynannywanny. I really hope they decide to make another series.

Thanks Blondiescot. My tv box has failed to pick up on the new episode. I must look for it this evening. Yes, I agree. A new series would be great.

I enjoyed both Motherland and 2 Doors Down last night.
I'd really like a Kevin to organise my Christmas.

I look forward to catching up with it, I've enjoyed them all so far.

So many Christmas specials to watch Motherland, Ghosts, Gone Fishing, Detectorists. I’m saving them up for a binge session.

The pilot shiw for Motherland just popped up on iplayer after I’d been watching something else. Not sure if it’s been shown before. I’ve loved every series of Motherland but have never seen the pilot episode before.

Crikey. I’ve just watched the Christmas one. What an amazing mix of humour and pathos. To have three series like Detectorists, Ghosts and Motherland is quite something.
