Howards’ Way.

I’m still watching this on catch up, but a bit behind hand,

Now on series 3.

35 or so years on, just noting how times have changed, and not just in the fashions.

1. They don’t always bother to fasten their seat belts in the car.

2. In the main, the woman always seems to cook the evening meal, and be in charge of all ‘housekeeping’.

3. One of the characters, Gerald Urquaart, is gay but has not ‘come out’, still in a marriage, very ground breaking back then.

4. Cigars are smoked frequently, in the workplace and in the pub.

5. Postcards or letters seem to be the chief way of keeping in touch with anyone abroad.

Just a few differences to now, but oh dear, where has that 35 years gone?

We used to watch and enjoy it. The theme tune is now stuck in my head .

I do recall watching it years ago on Sunday evenings; the theme music was quite dramatic wasn't it?
Might look for it on the Drama Channel now.

I loved it while knowing what rubbish it was. I loved how all the characters were catapulted to fame and success. I have watched the first one not sure about continuing. People seemed to bother about dressing up to go out...few seem to bother now everywhere is full of people in sports gear.

I remember it well. Sunday evenings. Watched it while ironing the shirts for school the next day.

I too loved that programme.

I’m now humming the theme tune 🤣

I remember how we used to look forward to this.

I loved it. Jan somebody. So glamorous.

I used to love it. I don’t know whether to relive and watch it but I’m sure it will be so dated.
