That’s such an unnecessary revelation. Even the poor little baby is brought into it. Some things are deeply personal and should remain private. I expect burial in consecrated ground would have been possible; both are apparently Christian.

I don’t think burials are carried out at all for early miscarriages, and I find it strange that a hospital would give the bereaved parents the foetus to take away.

It depends. Yes, they may do that.
But it is such a private and sensitive subject, I'm quite astonished that he made it public.

No wonder Chelsy and Cressida called it a day.

Sensible young women.

However, all this may not have happened had he gone to live in Africa with Chelsy.

Joseanne I know that you will take this as it’s intended - your post at 18.02 was the most upper middle class thing that I’ve seen on here!smile

We're plebs but I think my DD may have been in Switzerland at that time too
Snowboarding 🙂

I'd never get DH to go to the ballet, though.

H and M could have played important roles in the new slimmed down monarchy. I don’t think playing second fiddle was M’s thing though, having been the starring actress.

But she wasn’t was she? She was hardly A list.
I lay all of this at Harry’s feet.
It was inevitable. No wonder Chelsy and Cressida called it a day.
Until the past couple of days,
I had no idea that the late Caroline Flack was his girlfriend.
This is causing so much trouble.

You really don't understand "spare" do you

Of course we all do!! 😄
It's been a term used for centuries, it's so well-known that there can be few people who've never heard of it.

Someone making a joke about the term doesn't mean they don't understand it.

Is that what it means Volver Dear? Your superior knowledge again!

Yes, well I have told you several times but clearly you didn't assimilate it, and have decided to keep doing it because you think its funny. Or something.

A completely different poster told me a few weeks ago that she didn't like the abbreviation that I used for her name, so I stopped using it. But then I'm a grown up.

You are volver and I’m grateful.
😊
A genuine ‘thank you’.

I think it's the revelation of all this personal stuff I find so dreadful, but more so when it's someone else's deeply personal stuff, your brother and your father. That is just unforgiveable. They must be so hurt. It's just not done to reveal such private family moments to outsiders, but to reveal it to the whole world? Just disgusting. I would be utterly broken by such betrayal. 😢😢

Being a "spare" does not have to be a negative thing. Footballers have them. Actors have them. It's only a problem if your ego can't handle being the spare.

Prince Edward was the spare, spare, spare. I haven't seen him ever complain.

You really don't understand "spare" do you. Edward was a child born because his mother wanted another try at motherhood so a wanted child. A "spare" is one born because the father wants to ensure the line continues and the mother feels she has a duty to help that.
Conventional aristocratic thinking said once the spare was produced both parties could be unfaithful because any child the mother had wouldn't inherit. so its paternity didn't matter

More lies from Harry. He claims he was at Eaton when someone (possibly a courtier) rang to tell him his grandmother, the Queen Mother, had died. Blatant untruth as he was in Klosters with Charles and William and they cut the skiing holiday short and flew back.

Well he has obviously got it right and we are all wrong. He can't have been at Eton. I distinctly remember DD was on an Easter school trip skiing, and on the Easter Saturday DH and I were at the ballet when the Stage Manager came on stage to announce it.

Daddima Tue 10-Jan-23 17:53:48

Well, I’ve heard it all now! This is his account of what happened when they left hospital after Meghan’s miscarriage-

“The Prince said he buried his unborn child under a banyan tree somewhere "only we knew".

He said: "Under a spreading banyan tree, while Meg wept, I dug a hole with my hands and set the tiny package softly in the ground."

The upsetting account from Prince Harry is the latest detailing the Duchess' miscarriage.”

It never rains in Southern California.
The story of Harry’s life.

At least I'll not have Gilly Gilly Ossenfeffer Katzenellen Bogen by the Sea as an earworm any more, thanks Casdon 🙂

I do hope they're somewhere safe.

Sorry! It was all the discussion about floods that did it.

There is rarely - if ever - "a truth" when it comes to personal relationships. There are bits and pieces that are true and verifiably so but it is accurate to say, "my truth".

I'm not happy with all Harry said, for example revealing his brother's being bullied, and similar, but I believe it is the case that there is "an establishment" at work in our Monarchy that seeks to repress that which is counter to the myth they would create for themselves. It is a situation where Harry is coming up against forces with real power, and I include the Red tops et al in these forces. Trying to keep an idealised picture of our Monarchy alive.

Yes and it's proof that the book is not really quite accurate in places. Unfortunately we don't know which other places.

Its very cruel when some one who knows your weaknesses uses them against you- and so publicly.

So, Harry share that KC had been bullied at school (who hasn't!) but to use his weaknesses to try and shame him is actually shameful elder bullying.

Iam64 Tue 10-Jan-23 17:09:34

It’s heart breaking for all of them. Estrangement, anger, different memories of the same event and more. All being played out in public.

Chestnut Tue 10-Jan-23 17:06:37

This is all absolutely heart breaking especially for Charles and William who are on the receiving end. They would never have expected this level of vitriol and such deeply personal attacks and leaked private information could seriously affect their mental health. So my concern is for them. Harry is trying to destroy the very monarchy that his grandmother has worked so hard to preserve for the last 70 years. It's beyond heart breaking. 😥

OnwardandUpward Tue 10-Jan-23 16:49:54

Speaking as a parent whose embittered child also took psychadelic drugs and claimed to know "the truth" when "illuminated" by the drugs, surely it must be different to actual truth.

Elegran Tue 10-Jan-23 16:32:10

If they do take to a panic room instead of evacuating, I hope the panic room isn't underground. Not a good location in a flood.
