I have also enjoyed watching this. The only grumble that I have is that when they speak Norwegian there are sub-titles, but not when they speak in English. As |I am hearing impaired I rely on sub-titles to help my understanding when watching T.V. It's an awful strain trying to make sense of what is being said. I don't like to turn the volume up too much as there are young children living next door.
Have watched first two episodes with DH and both really enjoying this. The Guardian preview described it as soporific - I don’t know how a drama about a family fleeing a military invasion can be described in that way. We were on the edge of our seats as the queen and royal children were driven through the snowy forest, in the dark, to the Swedish border. The politics of ‘neutral’ Sweden’s monarch were an interesting feature of the second episode - we hear little of what happened in the Nordic countries compared to the European mainland.
I’m watching this. I’ve watched five episodes in the last few days. It’s wonderful. Sofia Helen is an amazing actress. This character is a complete opposite to Saga Noren but Sofia is just as convincing.
About the Norwegian Royal Family, and how WW2 affected them.
Kept seeing trailers for this, and couldn’t work out who the actress in the main role was. Then it came to me- Saga from The Bridge, but a completely different role.
