I have just watched this film for the second time, and again it has brought me to tears, such a powerful film.
My late friends husband was a prisoner of the Japanese. She said he never ever talked about it, and he went on to have a successful career as a bank manager and they moved to Jersey.
Apparently they had quite a large garden and her husband used to go out shooting crows, but one day he had been out in the garden a long time and not come back in and she went out and discovered he had shot himself and she thinks it was definitely to do with his memories of being a prisoner of war….🥺
