Absolutely correct, Chestnut 👏
Firstly named the BGs in Queensland (Maurice, Robin and Barry) which evolved into the Bee Gees.

Their original guise in the 1950s was the Rattlesnakes which consisted of 5 members, then they became Wee Johnny Hayes and the Blue Cats in 1958. But the Bee Gees were not named until 1963 and consisted of 3 members. So it's not correct to say the Bee Gees originally consisted of 5 members.

I didn’t know I just drift through life listening to the music and not taking much notice of anything else I knew abba was 4 and thought Bee gees was 3 too so I m equally ignorant

That's all right, CyberBug123 the question you mentioned was misleading wasn't it? Many of our generation would recall the right number of original Bee Gees members but it seems that the question didn't make that distinction which was remiss of the question setters in my opinion.

OK I know I’m getting on when a question on this programme annoys me. I just walked in as the question “who had the most band members historically” was asked. I think I heard it right but the answers were the Bee Gees, Abba or the Police. The contestant answered with the Police and of course was wrong. But did Ben Shepherd or the machine know the answer? The supposed answer was abba which of course was also wrong because the Bee Gees had 5 members originally - yes, I’m a fan and find these sort of quiz mistakes absolutely ridiculous. I don’t often come across the afternoon quiz shows but wow if this is the standard I’ll know not to bother - thanks for reading my rant 😉
