DH and I recently took out a subscription to Netflix . We tend to be home a fair amount and wanted an extra source of entertainment.
Any suggestions for good series we may have missed?
We have watched Line of Duty and Happy Valley already.

I’m also struggling for films as they look promising, but when we start watching they are often full of swearing which Im not particularly comfortable with.

Recommendations welcome !

I watched 23 walks and thoroughly enjoyed it very much. Alison Steadman another wonderful actor from Liverpool and Dave Johns played the characters really well.

Just what I was going to recommend Bobbysgirl19. We watched it a couple of days ago.
I enjoyed it, but it is a slow burn. Alison Steadman is in it.

Just watched a really ‘nice’ film called 23 Walks, which I throughly enjoyed! Has anyone watched it?

crazy - I think the other is making a suggestion rather than asking for suggestions.

If you want a laugh Schittz Creek. Loads of episodes to dip into. Rich family lose their home and money and have to live in quiet backwater.

Not sure it's Netflix but it's certainly free on UKTV play.

Ooo, that looks interesting!

The Dig is a lovely film.

Wyllow3 Sat 11-Feb-23 17:38:04

Oh do mention them!

ExperiencedNotOld Sat 11-Feb-23 17:29:42

Try the documentaries. Too many good ones watched to mention.

There are 2 lovely films about "Enola Holmes". The imagined sister of Sherlock Holmes. First is about her growing into the role of a detective and her unique mum, the second she tries to set up an agency. They are funny and charming and there is a lurve interest.

Just make sure you get them in the right order if you can, I watched them the wrong way round but still greatly enjoyed.

btw, have only just got Netflix too, so already jotted down notes from above.

Am looking for films especially

Film - Four Good Days starring Glen Close.

Sparklefizz Sat 11-Feb-23 13:35:40

Definitely the 2 series of Bridgerton if you haven't watched those yet.

Knives Out, with Daniel Craig a bit like an Agatha Christie. Viceroys House, days of expats in India, Hugh Bonniville and Gillian Anderson.
the Laundromat with Meryl Streep - not what you might think, but I won’t spoil it!
