I'm inspired to ask by another thread.

Restricting myself to those I sat right through and didn't turn off/walk out of, I'd like to start the roll of shame with

Braveheart
Pretty Woman
The Postman Always Rings Twice (the Jack Nicholson/Jessica Lange remake not the original)
Top Gun
Beetlejuice

La la Land - the stars can't dance
The English Patient - yawn
The Greatest Showman - no heart
Anything with Olivia Coleman - please just go away
Bridges of Madison County - nauseating
Love Actually - most nauseating film of all time

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, and the other two.
Most films with Clint Eastwood.
The Favourite

We are all very different !!
Really liked Greatest Showman, Titanic & Banshees of Inisherren
Didn't like La La Land and also anything with Will Farrell in it and most things with Jim Carey in

Yellowmellow Thu 30-Mar-23 15:55:45

Paint your Wagon. I was bored all the way through

Wheniwasyourage Thu 30-Mar-23 15:49:19

Oh yes, been reminded of more!

Boss Baby 2
Mamma Mia - the second one
South Pacific
Star Wars (any)
Lord of the Rings (any, although I do mean to try them again at some point - perhaps when DH is out and not sitting there scoffing!)

timetogo2016 Thu 30-Mar-23 15:37:13

The mirror cracked.
Waynes World.
Star Wars.
All of the Lord of the rings films.
And Harry Potter films.

I have no idea if this one was dire or not - Help! The Beatles film. I could neither see it nor hear it, the cinema being full of screaming, sobbing, hysterical young girls who wouldn’t stay in their seats or keep still. I was 13 at the time, it was lost on me 🤷‍♀️

krysiam Thu 30-Mar-23 15:06:52

John Wick.

My daughter was suggesting we see episode IV, so I watched the first one on telly. 90% shooting and killing, the rest just boring

polly123 Thu 30-Mar-23 14:49:15

Titanic
Pretty Woman

Musicgirl Thu 30-Mar-23 14:48:24

Forest Gump. So obvious, so predictable, so corny.

Mamma66 Thu 30-Mar-23 14:42:43

Oh, and I nearly forgot…

Don’t Look Now

Mamma66 Thu 30-Mar-23 14:39:42

Boxing Helena - absolute tripe with a capital T!
The Big Lebowski - critically acclaimed, but I could never understand why.
Trainspotting - just hated it.
Boss Baby 2 - took the grandchildren, they were bemused, I wanted to shoot myself!

Greatest Showman
La La Land
and Living with Bill Nighy

Agree with the Greatest Showman and half agree with La La land but LOVED Living!!

Bazza Thu 30-Mar-23 13:57:43

Another vote for Lost in Translation
Lawrence of Arabia
La Dolca Vita, we were persuaded to go to a screening relatively recently in a smart hotel where the tickets included dinner. Dinner was ok, but the film…..I thought it would never end, I would have left if I could. A complete load of arty rubbish that I’m sure must have seemed cool when it was made.
Any war film or excessive violence I avoid like the plague.

Fernbergien Thu 30-Mar-23 13:51:07

The Good German. Rubbish compared to book.

Merryweather Thu 30-Mar-23 13:46:19

The sound of music
The matrix
Avatar
Lala land

Just awful 😣

missdeke Thu 30-Mar-23 13:42:21

Battleship, the blurb said it was good, I gave up after half an hour.

Fast and Furious, a friend gave me a dvd when I worked abroad, so I was grateful for anything, but what a load of old codswallop. I've never bothered to attempt to watch any more in the franchise.

About fifty years ago, my boyfriend and I went to a midnight showing of Dumbo and a subtitled Japanese film called Atragon about some sort of monster machine. It was very boring indeed. We left part way through. Funnily enough, I saw Atragon promoted on Prime Video very recently!

I took my eight year old and three mates to see Muppet Treasure Island when it came out in 1996. It was so incredibly boring I nearly cried.

I went to see Burt Reynolds in Deliverance with the same boyfriend. It was so horrible I walked out and, of course, my boyfriend had to join me. Reader, I married him. 😂
